is is a newsleer of the Corrales Historical Society, a nonprofit corporation which promotes greater appreciation for and beer understanding of the history and traditions of the centuries-old community of Corrales, New Mexico and its residents of yesterday and today. corrales HISTORICAL SOCIETY FRESH AND FORWARD-LOOKING. The new Corrales Historical Society logo represents the history of Corrales in a style for today. A big departure from the now rered CHS logo, the new logo sets itself apart from other historical society logos. During the past year, CHS has significantly increased efforts to connue to keep Corrales history alive, promote the Society, and market the Old Church as an events venue to generate addional funds for preservaon and maintenance of the Old Church. Our progressive, future- acng organizaon is reflected in the new logo. While reviewing printed and online materials, the CHS markeng team discovered that mulple images were being used as logos and that the actual logo was looking dated and somewhat old-fashioned. Desiring a new logo to represent CHS with integrity and one that would more accurately reflect our current markeng and preservaon iniaves, Susan Cahill appointed a logo team charged with developing a new look. In designing the new logo, the team wanted to include not only the Old Church–the heart of Corrales–but also significant historical features that reach well beyond its doorstep. Thus, the new logo incorporates agricultural elements and the Rio Grande into the design. The Rio Grande is featured prominently in the logo as it is the lifeline to this community. Without the river, Corrales would not be the vibrant, agrarian community that it is. In our semi-rural community, it is common to see fields being prepped for planng, lled to remove stones and weeds and add in fresh air and loosened soil that is more recepve to new seeds. So it is with this new logo. It is fresh and unique, just like CHS. We never lose touch with our history, but we are striving to make CHS an enty that will connue to grow and prosper in 2016 and beyond. The team spent many hours over more than two months and sorted through dozens of rendions to sele upon this design. The group focused on basic logo design elements, colors, and fonts as well as flexibility of presentaon for a variety of uses– staonery, website, ads, newsleer, Facebook and flyers to name a few. Guidelines for logo usage and various file formats will be added to the CHS website soon. The new logo has already appeared in an ad in Corrales Comment, on the CHS website and Facebook page, and on business cards and note cards.
