Section 1 – Laptop Requirements

This document outlines installation and configuration of Lawson software and other recommended software that will be used to complete daily tasks as a sales representative.

1.1: Prerequisites

The following applications are prerequisites that usually are installed on the manufacturer OS image. If you do not have these prerequisites, please make sure to visit the sites listed to install.

• Adobe Reader

• Antivirus There are many anti-virus offerings and it is recommended that all Windows computers have an anti-virus program. You may have an anti-virus installed such as Norton, McAfee, AVG, etc. If you do not have one installed, Lawson recommends a Windows Defender that is installed on your Windows 10 PC.

Section 2 – Internet Browsers

2.1: Lawson applications work with many different browsers. Google Chrome and

Microsoft Edge are the most frequently used browsers. Reference the Internet

Browser Compatibility Matrix on Lawson Central link Note: The Browser Compatibility list changes frequently.

2.1.2: Internet Explorer Allow Content for SAP Portal Applications

1. Open a Web Browser

2. Go to Tools (Gear in the top left corner)

3. Click on Internet options

4. Click on the Security tab

5. Click on Custom level

6. Scroll down until you find Display mixed content

7. Make sure Enable is checked

8. Click OK

9. Click Yes on the window that pops up

10. Close out of Internet Options

11. Close and reopen Internet Explorer for settings to take effect

2.2: Create Shortcuts to Supporting Websites

There are several websites that you will access frequently for support in your daily activities. These sites and the URL to their sign in/home page are listed in the table below. Follow the steps below to create shortcuts on your desktop.

1. Go to the following website: https://lawsonproducts.exavault.com/login

2. Enter the following credentials: Username: agentworks

Password: l@ws0n5

3. Click on the blue down arrow next to Supporting Websites.vbs and select Download

4. Click Open

5. Click Open. Icons will then be displayed on your desktop

3.1: OrderPad Downloadable Catalog

To install the downloadable catalog, follow the steps below:

Notes:

• This is the only version of the catalog formatted to allow for importing to OrderPad

• Instructions have been written for use on computers using Internet Explorer

1. Go to http://myportal.lawsonproducts.com or double click the Lawson SAP Portal icon on your desktop

2. Enter the following credentials: Username: Representative number (5-digit or 6-digit ID) Password: lawson and the last four of SSN OR current password

3. Click Log on

4. On the SAP Portal home screen, click your assigned OrderPad tab

5. Click the OrderPad Catalogs link

6. A page with icons for the catalogs available appears. This page is updated when new OrderPad catalog versions are available.

7. Click the link for the version of the catalog you want to use

8. A File Download security window appears

9. Click the Run button

10. On the Welcome to Lawson Products Catalog DL Setup window, click Next

11. On the License Agreement window, click I Agree

12. On the Choose Catalog window, make sure the proper catalog box is checked and click Next

13. On the confirm settings window, click Install. Installation will take a few moments to complete

14. Uncheck the Run Lawson Products Catalog DL box and click Finish

15. An icon will appear on your desktop that you can click to open the catalog. The Catalog will open in

your computer’s default browser.

3.2: Label Print Request

Label Print Request is where labels, backplates, and bin labels can be order for customers without putting an

order through the OrderPad system. This is a web-based program and the following instructions will assist with

access the program. Job Aid on how to use the Label Print Request system, click here.

1. Open Internet Explorer Browser and Go to https://myportal.lawsonproducts.com

2. Enter the following credentials: Username: Representative number (5-digit or 6-digit ID) Password: lawson and the last four of SSN OR current password

3. Click Log In

4. Select your assigned OrderPad Region Tab. This will be one of the following locations:

5. Select Label Print Request Application

6. You will then be prompted to login to Label Print Request

7. Enter the following credentials: Username: Representative number (5-digit or 6-digit ID) Password: lawson and the last four of SSN OR current password

2. Starting at your desktop, hold down the Windows Key and press the R key

3.3: OrderPad

3.3.1: Adjust Power Settings for OrderPad

IMPORTANT: Make sure your laptop is plugged into the power supply and not running on battery

It is strongly recommended that you install OrderPad when you are able to access a high-speed

internet connection in your home or office.

To avoid lengthy download times, do not attempt to install OrderPad from a location with a slow

or unreliable internet connection (hotspot, restaurants, etc.)

1. Adjust Power settings before setup and initial sync process

Note: This step ensures that your laptop will not go into Sleep mode during the installation process

(which would require you to re-start the installation process)

This setting only affects your laptop when it is plugged in; the settings for battery usage are not

affected by this step in the installation process

3. The Run window will appear

a. Type the following: powercfg.cpl

b. Click OK

c. On the Power Options window click Change plan settings

c. Click Save changes

d. Close the Power Options window

a. Under the Plugged in section of the Edit Plan Settings window, select Never in both drop boxes

3.3.2: Installing OrderPad

NOTE: You CAN NOT install OrderPad until your official start date

1. Go to https://lawsonproductsinc.sharepoint.com/sites/IT/SitePages/OrderPad.aspx?web=1

2. Click on the OrderPad download

3. Click the Run button that appears in the lower right corner of the screen

NOTE: The warning shown below may appear at the bottom right of the screen: “OrderPad.exe is not commonly downloaded and could harm your computer”

• If this message appears, continue to Step 7

• If the InstallShield Wizard window appears instead, jump ahead to Step 10

4. Click the Actions button to the right of the warning message

5. Click the More Options arrow.

6. Click the Run Anyway button

7. Click Next

8. Click the Install button to begin the installation. The installation will take a few moments

9. When the InstallShield Wizard is complete, click the Finish button

10. Double click the OrderPad icon on the desktop

11. The OrderPad Configuration window appears

12. Fill out the OrderPad configuration screen

• Enter Representative ID (5-digit or 6-digit ID)

• Select your Country and your Company from drop down lists.

• Click Save

13. The OrderPad Login Screen appears. To Log in, use the same information you use to log in to the

SAP Portal, and click OK

- Username: Representative ID (5-digit or 6-digit ID)

- Password: Current Password

14. At this point OrderPad will begin to synchronize data

IMPORTANT: The synchronization process may take a significant amount of time to complete.

DO NOT CANCEL THE SYNCHRONIZATION PROCESS ONCE IT BEGINS. You can use your

computer for other tasks while the synchronization process continues

15. When sync process is complete, the OrderPad window will open and will show STATUS in the bottom

left hand corner

4.1: Download and Install LibreOffice (alternative to Microsoft Office Suite)

1. Go to the following URL: https://www.libreoffice.org/

2. Click Download and select Download LibreOffice

3. Click Download Version 6.1.3

4. Click Run

Download will take a few minutes depending on your Internet connection

10. Click the Tools menu and select Options

11. Click the Load/Save arrow and select General

12. Uncheck the box to the left of Warn when not saving in ODF or default format.

13. Click the Always save as drop down and select Microsoft Word 2007- 2019 (.docx)

14. Click the drop down for Document Type and select Spreadsheet

15. Click the drop down for Always save as and select Microsoft Excel 2007-2019 (.xlsx)

16. Click the drop down for Document Type and select Presentation

17. Click the drop down for Always save as and select Microsoft PowerPoint 2007- 2019 (.pptx)

18. Click the OK button.

19. Installation is finished and the application can be closed.
