To create a HiPER-Ring, activate the Redundancy Manager on one of Hirschmann’s managed switches via integrated DIP switch.

HiPER-Ring Watchdog Packets
Redundant Link
Watchdog packets pass through redundant link while normal Ethernet traffic cannot.
The Redundancy Manager sends out watchdog packets to test the integrity of the ring.

Restoring broken link
