For easy reference, in the current year April 2003 will be the Hindu new year of Swabhaanu. The Sowramana (Solar) as well as the Chandramana (Lunar) cycles, follow the same naming pattern. But the cycles of Solar / Lunar Calendar are slightly different and this results in the two cycles to start usually a few days apart. In 2003 the Lunar Calendar year begins on April 2, while the Solar Calendar will begin on April 15. For the exact time etc., please consult the calendar of that year. 1. Prabhava 2. Vibhava 3.
