ABOUT THE COLLEGE
Narmada College of Computer Application was started in the year
1999. The MCA Programme at the college is approved by AICTE,
New Delhi. The college was earlier affiliated with Veer Narmad
South Gujarat University (VNSGU), Surat and is now affiliated with
Gujarat Technological University (GTU), Ahmedabad. This is one of
the oldest colleges in South Gujarat region and is managed by Narmada Education
& Scientific Research Society, which is a trust promoted by GNFC, Bharuch.
OUR STUDENTS’ PLACEMENT
The job fair was organized by GTU ANKLESHWAR-BHARUCH innovation sankul
on 15th and 16th March 2013 at SVMIT Campus, Bharuch.
The job fair was organized for the final year students. Eligibility criteria for
participation were greater than or equal to 6.5 CPI in MCA.
Our 34 students were eligible for the job fair. Our 15 students were participated in
Job fair.

COMPETITIONS IN NCCA
NCCA organized ‚C Programming competition‛ & ‚IT Quiz Competition‛ on 28th
Feb. 2013. Our faculties and students of semester: 2 & 4 were coordinated the
competition.
‚C Programming Competition‛ was coordinated by Mrs. Purvi Tailor, Assistant
Professor, NCCA. ‚IT Quiz Competition‛ was coordinated by Ms. Manisha Vasava,
Assistant Professor, NCCA. In both the competition, judges were announced the
winners of the competition. .
NCCA’S PARTICIPATIONS
Following are the activities where the NCCA was participated:
1. TechFest – 2013, Vallabh Vidhyanagar
2. BITA Show – 2013, Vadodara
3. Ignite – 2013, Changa
“TechFest – 2013” was organized at G. H. Patel College of Engineering, Vallabh
Vidhyanagar on 9th Feb. 2013. Our 4 students of semester: 2 were taken part in this
competition.
BITA (Baroda IT Association) was organized ‚BITA Show – 2013‛ at Akota
Stadium, Vadodara on 22/23/24th Feb. 2013. Our 9 students of semester: 2 were taken

part in this competition.
“Ignite – 2013” was organized at Smt. Chandanben Mohanbhai Patel Institute of
Computer Application (CMPICA), Charusat Campus, Changa, Anand on 2nd March
2013. Following events are organized in Ignite-2013: Programming In C, Web
Application & Development & NFS
The students of semester: 2 & 4 were taken part in this competition.
INFORMATION AND TECHNOLOGY
AWARENESS SESSION BY MICROSOFT
The session was organized on 20th Feb. 2013 by the training specialist Mr. Pavak
Patel. He gave broad knowledge on Cloud Computing, Windows 8 features.
HEALTH AWARENESS PROGRAM
NCCA invited Dr. Chetan Pantanwadia on 13th Feb. 2013 for the talk on Health
Awareness Program. He came with his team. They gave lots of knowledge to our
students for the health. They gave detailed knowledge on kidney stone, what to eat
and what to not eat for good health and so on.

GUEST LECTURE ON “MANAGEMENT OF
INVENTORY” BY SHRI AMIT PATHAK
Guest Lecture on ‘Management of Inventory’ for MCA Semester IV was arranged
by NCCA on 18th March, 2013. Shri Amit Pathak, Assistant Professor of C.K.
Pithawalla Institue of Management – Surat was the spoke person who delivered
lecture to the students. He gave good knowledge about Management of Inventory
to the students.

SPORTS DAY IN NCCA
A systematic schedule of co-curricular and extra – curricular activities provides a
rich and exciting experience for the student and makes the task of learning,
progressive, creative and meaningful. On March 15th, 2013 Sport Day was celebrated
with great excitement on Narmada College Sports Ground. Cricket and Volley ball
were played by students with great spirit and showed enthusiasm.
In Volley Ball competition from boys, winner team was the students of semester: 4 &
from girls, winner team was the students of semester: 4.
In Cricket competition from boys, winner team was the students of semester:2 &
from girls, winner team was the students of semester: 2.

INTER COLLEGE CRICKET TOURNAMENT
Students of NCCA participated in inter college cricket tournament organized by
Narmada College of Science and Commerce. The cricket match was scheduled on
15th Jan. 2013 against the team of Narmada College of Management.
“NATIONAL IT APTITUDE TEST – 2013” BY NIIT
NIIT had conducted ‚National IT Aptitude Test – 2013‛ in NCCA on 16th Feb. 2013.
This test is useful to know how well-suited you are for a career in the industry that
runs the world.
This test is conducted in India across 200+ cities. It is 100 minutes objective type
examination specially designed by NIIT to evaluate IT aptitude.
VYAKHAN ON “BHARAT JAGO-VISHWA JAGAO”
On the behalf of Vivekananda, Narmada College of Science and Commerce had
organized a Vyakhan on Bharat Jago-Vishwa Jagao on 150th birth anniversary of
Swami Vivekanandaji on 20th March, 2013.
Great international personality Su. Shri. Nivedita Bhide, Vice President Vivekananda
Kendra, Kanyakumari had given guest lecture cum interaction session.
In this Vyakhan, there were Elocution and Poster competitions. In Elocution
competition, from semester: 2 and 4; total 3 students had participated. In poster

competition, from semester: 2 and 4; total 14 posters were submitted. Also 4 faculty
members had submitted the posters.
In the poster competition, Chauhan Ankit & Gandhi Hardik from semester: 2 had
won 2nd prize.
SEMINAR ON “INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATION”
BY NIIT, BHARUCH
Team members of NIIT delivered a lecture on Importance of International
Certification Courses in the area of Database, Programming languages, Web
Application Development and Mobile Computing. The lecture was scheduled on
21/03/2013 at NCCA conference Hall for students of MCA Semester II and IV. The
lecture gave in depth knowledge regarding productive significance of International
Certification all along with Post Graduation Degree.
SEMINAR ON “LEAN SIX SIGMA CERTIFICATION”
Seminar on ‘Orientation of Six Sigma & World record attempt in Lean Six Sigma
Certification’ was conducted on 2nd May 2013 by Mr. Madhav Reddy, CEO of
‚RedMad Learnings‛. He is in the field of training & development for past 12 years.
He has been conducting training programs at Schools, Colleges, Universities, Public
& Private sector firms across India. The organization’s core activities are into
Training & Development for corporate sectors & educational institutions,
deployment of Lean methodologies & Six Sigma applications, Quality management
& enhancement, Student grooming and business consultancy. RedMad Learnings

also conducts training & certification programs on Quality concepts & Lean Six
Sigma methodologies.
BISAG SEMINARS
NCCA conducts all the BISAG seminars scheduled by Gujarat Technological
University, Ahmedabad for the students.
Seminar on Pointers for semester-2, students was conducted at our college.
SPOKEN TUTORIAL ON “LIBRE-OFFICE WRITER”
In NCCA, a spoken tutorial workshop on ‚Libre-Office Writer‛ was organized on 2nd
Feb. 2013 for NCCA staff members in association with IIT-Bombay under Spoken
Tutorial Project. Total 12 staff members were participated in the tutorial. This
workshop was coordinated by Mr. Bhavesh A. Patel, Assistant Professor, NCCA and
workshop ambassador was Dr. Jatinderkumar R. Saini, I/C Director & Associate
Professor, NCCA.

SPOKEN TUTORIAL ON “C & C++ PROGRAMMING
LANGUAGE”
In NCCA, a spoken tutorial workshop on ‚C & C++ Programming Language‛ was
organized on 27th Feb. 2013 and also on 6th March 2013 for the students of semester: 2
and 4 in association with IIT-Bombay under Spoken Tutorial Project. On 27th Feb.
2013 total 41 students and on 6th March 2013 total 58 students were participated in
the tutorial. This workshop was coordinated by Mr. Bhavesh A. Patel, Assistant
Professor, NCCA and workshop ambassador was Dr. Jatinderkumar R. Saini, I/C
Director & Associate Professor, NCCA.
FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
One week Faculty development program on ‚Active Teaching Learning Strategy‛ was
organized in NCCA from 22-26th April 2013; was supported by CSI, Surat Chapter and
also by Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad.
FDP was coordinated by Dr. Jatinderkumar R. Saini, I/C Director & Associate
Professor, NCCA & Director (I.T.), GTU’s Ankleshwar-Bharuch Innovation Sankul.
