Delhi Public School Kolar Road has made a mark again
by winning first position in Science Quiz and second
position in Model Making Competition held at Jagran
Lake City University Akhshat Chopra of Class XII
brought laurels to the school by winning first position and
cash prize of 11000- in Inter School Science Quiz for
classes XI and XII Priyanshu Asthana and Chinmay Gourkhede were given medals
for their excellent performance Aditya Sai Vardhan and Saket Dwarka of class IX
won second position in model making competition and a cash prize of 7000- Out

December 2018 by Sports and Mixed Martial Arts
Association Bhopal for girls of classes 6 to 9
The workshop focused on simple self defence tricks that could save girls in
unfavourable situations The students were also given tips to safeguard themselves
It was an extremely useful workshop keeping in mind the safety of women in
todays world

near Bhadbhada
They distributed books and bags to the children
from rural area Community service provides

Mukesh Singh Rajput was the resource person He has been awarded bdquo Bhopal
Ratna‟ for showing extra ordinary skills in writing He is a prominent writer whose
book bdquoCA Pass- The Real Story‟ has been a huge success
Mr Rajput shared his views regarding the topic He also suggested some tips to
students on how to memorize the content fast and easily

organized on 14th December 2018 in which students of
classes IX to XI participated The Competition showcased
the aesthetic sensibilities of the young dipsites of DPS
Kolar The participants displayed keen interest innate

No of Participants -Around one hundred fifty delegates from different
schools
DPS Kolar MUN was inaugurated on 15th
December 2018 Model United Nations also known
as Model UN (MUN) Conference was organized in
which about 150 delegates from different schools
participated in this educational simulation
MUN is an educational academic activity in which students
can learn about diplomacy international relations and the
United Nations The programme aims to foster negotiation
speaking debating and writing skills in addition to critical
thinking teamwork and leadership abilities
Participants in Model United Nations conference known as
delegates were placed in committees and assigned countries
to represent or occasionally other organizations or political
figures where they represented members of that body
Assignments were presented to them in advance along with topics for discussion
Delegates conducted research before conferences and formulated positions They
then debated with their fellow delegates in the committee staying true to the actual
position of the country they represented
The purpose of this procedure is to familiarize delegates with the substantial topics
of debate encourage academic research and writing and to enable substantial
preparation for conference
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Principal Madam
Vandana Dhupar The Vice Principal Dr Anita Dwivedi welcomed the guests and
the delegates Dr Anita Dwivedi also welcomed Mr Manas Dowlani who is the
Chief Advisor for DPS KOLAR MUN
The Secretary General Master Saksham Agrawal declared the conference open
15122018 DPS KOLAR has added one more feather to its cap by
winning third position in SCIENCE MODEL making
competition held at Regional Science Centre on 14th and
15th December 2018 Aditya Sai Vardhan and Saket Dwarka
of class IX brought laurels to the school by winning cash
prize of ` 1000- and a trophy for the school
17122018 The students of class IV of Delhi Public School Kolar
presented a special assembly to pay respect to the
soldiers of our country on the occasion of Vijay Diwas
which falls on 16 December every year
The Assembly included a presentation where they
shared the information about the brave soldiers who
sacrificed their life for the nation and were awarded
bdquoParam Vir Chakra‟ for their valour A group song was also presented
The Assembly sensitized the students to remember and appreciate the contribution
of courageous Indian Army men protecting our nation
17122018 DPSKOLARMUN 2018 transformed the students into dynamic delegates who
actively participated in speaking debating and got an
opportunity to improve their writing skills It gave them
a platform where they had learnt critical thinking and
team work to become the able leaders of tomorrow The
students had heated arguments on various national and
international issues They presented their views and
suggested ways and means to sort out the various
ongoing issues The culmination of Day 1 was marked by Socials the DJ night
where the children danced and relaxed
The Press Corps Committee comprising of 12 photographers and 14 reporters
justified their role by playing a pivotal role in the DPS KOLAR MUN and ensuring
fair media coverage and reporting
The closing ceremony was marked by the award function where the best speakers
were bestowed with various awards such as Best Delegate High Commendation
Special Mention and Verbal Mention
The Chief guest for the evening was Dr Manoj Pandey who is the representative
for Women Empowerment and Child Development in the United Nations He
motivated the children to become responsible future citizens and praised the efforts
of one and all
Madam Principal Mrs Vandana Dhupar in her pearls of wisdom congratulated the
entire team of DPS KOLAR MUN and congratulated them for the grand success of
the event

for an education excursion Students were thrilled to visit
and see the process of water filtration and purification
which further added to their knowledge of how water is
purified
The Annual Inter DPS Literary Fest -A Thousand Splendid Suns was organised at
DPS Dwarka on 15th December 2018 under the aegis
of DPS society It was a celebration of wealth of
English literature and a platform for students to
explore first hand the stars in the literary firmament
A total of 101 schools participated in various online
offline and onsite events
Two students of our school Harman
Saini from class IV and Karanjaee Patwardhan from class V
participated in an offline event Pic your Pic wherein they had to
design a picture dictionary They brought laurels to the school by
securing the second position nationally
Riddhi Kushwaha from class VII got a special mention in the onsite
event By Word of Mouth She enacted the character of Bianca
Castafiore from Tintin series
Aadya Singh from class VII participated in Literary Geek - The English Quiz and
qualified in the Preliminary round She secured position amongst the top ten
schools in the final round
Overall it was a very good exposure for the students and a great learning
experience

and the main administrative unit The students came to know that Anandiben Patel
is the second woman Governor of the state after Ms Sarla Grewal The students
enjoyed whole heartedly and each child wrote his or her experience about
Rajbhawan on a sheet of paper

The celebrations began with the Psalms and the singing of the hymns The
significance of the festival was brought about through a recital which was simply
ethereal With a smile on their faces joy in their hearts and twinkle in their eyes
children shared bdquoReason for Season bdquo and a beautiful skit on bdquoMy Trip to Heaven
thus spreading the message of love joy and peace Carol and cheers highlighted

Christmas on 21st December with great fervor and
enthusiasm The campus wore a festive look with bells
streamers Santa caps and a beautifully decorated
Christmas tree Students came dressed up in red
costumes The boundless joy of celebrating the festival
started with a skit presented by class Prep in which the
children were told about the birth of Lord Jesus and the legend of Santa Claus To
illumine the essence of the day the students of class ll presented the theme talk
followed by the scintillating dance performance by the students of class l and
Choral Recitation by Nursery Arrival of Santa added happy smiles which were
amply visible on the faces of the children especially when Santa moved around
distributing sweets to them Jubilation and excitement filled the air as all were in
Christmas spirits
Melodious Choral Recitation competition by class Nursery was surely an icing on
the cake The first position was bagged by Nursery A and the first runner up was
Nursery B It was judged by Ms Ambika Gupta and Ms Jatinder Kaur
Fun march by our cute Santas of DPS Castle of Dreams was a head turner
Ms Remy Behl (Academic co-ordinator) appreciated the cute performances by our

Durgawati-The Warrior Princess Through this enactment students depicted
the life and works of the valiant Queen Durgawati The awe-inspiring drama
was a cohesive effort of the students from classes III to XI and students from
Somvati Devi Shiksha Kendra and left the audience spellbound

Dwarfs with a twist by the tiny tots

The young performers were a paragon of excellence
Students from classes III to XI presented a breathtaking spectacle inspired by
Charles Dickens play A Christmas Carol which showcased the
transformation of a miserly close hearted man to a magnanimous and kind
hearted man The play conveyed the message that Christmas is all about
giving and spreading happiness all around The vibrant play was a visual
treat to the senses and left the audience overwhelmed
The programme culminated with a promise to bring a ray of change in
students by inculcating right values and thereby contributing in building a
more progressive and peaceful society

which about 150 delegates from different schools
participated in this educational simulation
MUN is an educational academic activity in which students
can learn about diplomacy international relations and the
United Nations The programme aims to foster negotiation
speaking debating and writing skills in addition to critical
thinking teamwork and leadership abilities
Participants in Model United Nations conference known as
delegates were placed in committees and assigned countries
to represent or occasionally other organizations or political
figures where they represented members of that body
Assignments were presented to them in advance along with topics for discussion
Delegates conducted research before conferences and formulated positions They
then debated with their fellow delegates in the committee staying true to the actual
position of the country they represented
The purpose of this procedure is to familiarize delegates with the substantial topics
of debate encourage academic research and writing and to enable substantial
preparation for conference

as Model UN (MUN) Conference was organized in
which about 150 delegates from different schools
participated in this educational simulation
MUN is an educational academic activity in which students
can learn about diplomacy international relations and the
United Nations The programme aims to foster negotiation
speaking debating and writing skills in addition to critical
thinking teamwork and leadership abilities
Participants in Model United Nations conference known as
delegates were placed in committees and assigned countries
to represent or occasionally other organizations or political
figures where they represented members of that body
Assignments were presented to them in advance along with topics for discussion
Delegates conducted research before conferences and formulated positions They
then debated with their fellow delegates in the committee staying true to the actual
position of the country they represented
The purpose of this procedure is to familiarize delegates with the substantial topics
of debate encourage academic research and writing and to enable substantial
preparation for conference
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Principal Madam

The Chief guest for the evening was Dr Manoj Pandey who is the representative
for Women Empowerment and Child Development in the United Nations He
motivated the children to become responsible future citizens and praised the efforts

The Principal Mrs Vandana Dhupar greeted everyone on the occasion and
emphasized on the real meaning of Christmas which lies not merely in celebration
but more so in sharing forgiving and loving
The celebrations began with the Psalms and the singing of the hymns The
significance of the festival was brought about through a recital which was simply
ethereal With a smile on their faces joy in their hearts and twinkle in their eyes
children shared bdquoReason for Season bdquo and a beautiful skit on bdquoMy Trip to Heaven
thus spreading the message of love joy and peace Carol and cheers highlighted
the true spirit of Christmas bringing in pleasant surprises and joyful moments to
cherish always

DPS Kolar Road organized different competitions to promote Swachh Bharat
Abhiyan in the month of July and August as per the directives of National
Education and Human Resource Development
Organisation 800 Dip sites from classes III to X
participated in different competitions 42 Dip sites
received Gold Medals and certificates in the
category of level 1to 11
Our school received SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE
AWARD a trophy a Gold medal and a certificate
Our Principal madam Vandana Dhupar received NATIONAL CLEAN INDIA
ACTIVITY PRINCIPAL AWARD Two staff members also received National

Festival is a spirit of joy Irrespective of time space and culture candles are
entrusted to manifest that joy
An intra section ldquo CANDLE DECORATION ldquo
competition was conducted in DPS Kolar for the students
of class I In this competition with the assistance of
teachers students used their creativity and imagination
and came up with decorative designs of candles using
different material

DPS Castle of Dreams Kolar Road celebrated
Christmas on 21st December with great fervor and
enthusiasm The campus wore a festive look with bells
streamers Santa caps and a beautifully decorated
Christmas tree Students came dressed up in red
costumes The boundless joy of celebrating the festival
started with a skit presented by class Prep in which the
children were told about the birth of Lord Jesus and the legend of Santa Claus To
illumine the essence of the day the students of class ll presented the theme talk
followed by the scintillating dance performance by the students of class l and
Choral Recitation by Nursery Arrival of Santa added happy smiles which were
amply visible on the faces of the children especially when Santa moved around
distributing sweets to them Jubilation and excitement filled the air as all were in
Christmas spirits
Melodious Choral Recitation competition by class Nursery was surely an icing on
the cake The first position was bagged by Nursery A and the first runner up was
Nursery B It was judged by Ms Ambika Gupta and Ms Jatinder Kaur
Fun march by our cute Santas of DPS Castle of Dreams was a head turner
Ms Remy Behl (Academic co-ordinator) appreciated the cute performances by our
little Dipsites All in all it was an event to be remembered for long

amalgamating various ragas and followed by it was an English song seeking
blessings from the Almighty for world peace and unity Students from class
V presented Pushpanjali a classical dance form of Bharatnatyam to invoke
the blessings of Goddess Saraswati
Another highlight of the cultural extravaganza was a musical drama in Hindi-
Durgawati-The Warrior Princess Through this enactment students depicted
the life and works of the valiant Queen Durgawati The awe-inspiring drama
was a cohesive effort of the students from classes III to XI and students from
Somvati Devi Shiksha Kendra and left the audience spellbound
Further in the sequence was a
mesmerizing performance Magical
Seven showcasing the classic fairy
tale Snow White and the Seven
Dwarfs with a twist by the tiny tots
from Castle of Dreams students from
classes I amp II and the budding stars
from Somvati Devi Shiksha Kendra
The young performers were a paragon of excellence
Students from classes III to XI presented a breathtaking spectacle inspired by
Charles Dickens play A Christmas Carol which showcased the
transformation of a miserly close hearted man to a magnanimous and kind
hearted man The play conveyed the message that Christmas is all about
giving and spreading happiness all around The vibrant play was a visual
treat to the senses and left the audience overwhelmed
The programme culminated with a promise to bring a ray of change in
students by inculcating right values and thereby contributing in building a
more progressive and peaceful society
