No of Participants -Around one hundred fifty delegates from different

schools

DPS Kolar MUN was inaugurated on 15th

December 2018 Model United Nations also known

as Model UN (MUN) Conference was organized in

which about 150 delegates from different schools

participated in this educational simulation

MUN is an educational academic activity in which students

can learn about diplomacy international relations and the

United Nations The programme aims to foster negotiation

speaking debating and writing skills in addition to critical

thinking teamwork and leadership abilities

Participants in Model United Nations conference known as

delegates were placed in committees and assigned countries

to represent or occasionally other organizations or political

figures where they represented members of that body

Assignments were presented to them in advance along with topics for discussion

Delegates conducted research before conferences and formulated positions They

then debated with their fellow delegates in the committee staying true to the actual

position of the country they represented

The purpose of this procedure is to familiarize delegates with the substantial topics

of debate encourage academic research and writing and to enable substantial

preparation for conference

The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Principal Madam

Vandana Dhupar The Vice Principal Dr Anita Dwivedi welcomed the guests and

the delegates Dr Anita Dwivedi also welcomed Mr Manas Dowlani who is the

Chief Advisor for DPS KOLAR MUN

The Secretary General Master Saksham Agrawal declared the conference open

winning third position in SCIENCE MODEL making

competition held at Regional Science Centre on 14th and

15th December 2018 Aditya Sai Vardhan and Saket Dwarka

of class IX brought laurels to the school by winning cash

prize of ` 1000- and a trophy for the school

17122018 The students of class IV of Delhi Public School Kolar

presented a special assembly to pay respect to the

soldiers of our country on the occasion of Vijay Diwas

which falls on 16 December every year

The Assembly included a presentation where they

shared the information about the brave soldiers who

sacrificed their life for the nation and were awarded

bdquoParam Vir Chakra‟ for their valour A group song was also presented

The Assembly sensitized the students to remember and appreciate the contribution

of courageous Indian Army men protecting our nation

17122018 DPSKOLARMUN 2018 transformed the students into dynamic delegates who

actively participated in speaking debating and got an

opportunity to improve their writing skills It gave them

a platform where they had learnt critical thinking and

team work to become the able leaders of tomorrow The

students had heated arguments on various national and

international issues They presented their views and

suggested ways and means to sort out the various

ongoing issues The culmination of Day 1 was marked by Socials the DJ night

where the children danced and relaxed

The Press Corps Committee comprising of 12 photographers and 14 reporters

justified their role by playing a pivotal role in the DPS KOLAR MUN and ensuring

fair media coverage and reporting

The closing ceremony was marked by the award function where the best speakers

were bestowed with various awards such as Best Delegate High Commendation

Special Mention and Verbal Mention

The Chief guest for the evening was Dr Manoj Pandey who is the representative

for Women Empowerment and Child Development in the United Nations He

motivated the children to become responsible future citizens and praised the efforts

of one and all

Madam Principal Mrs Vandana Dhupar in her pearls of wisdom congratulated the

entire team of DPS KOLAR MUN and congratulated them for the grand success of

the event

purified

The Annual Inter DPS Literary Fest -A Thousand Splendid Suns was organised at

DPS Dwarka on 15th December 2018 under the aegis

of DPS society It was a celebration of wealth of

English literature and a platform for students to

explore first hand the stars in the literary firmament

A total of 101 schools participated in various online

offline and onsite events

participated in an offline event Pic your Pic wherein they had to

design a picture dictionary They brought laurels to the school by

securing the second position nationally

Riddhi Kushwaha from class VII got a special mention in the onsite

Aadya Singh from class VII participated in Literary Geek - The English Quiz and

qualified in the Preliminary round She secured position amongst the top ten

schools in the final round

Overall it was a very good exposure for the students and a great learning

Rajbhawan on a sheet of paper

started with a skit presented by class Prep in which the

children were told about the birth of Lord Jesus and the legend of Santa Claus To

illumine the essence of the day the students of class ll presented the theme talk

followed by the scintillating dance performance by the students of class l and

Choral Recitation by Nursery Arrival of Santa added happy smiles which were

amply visible on the faces of the children especially when Santa moved around

distributing sweets to them Jubilation and excitement filled the air as all were in

Christmas spirits

Melodious Choral Recitation competition by class Nursery was surely an icing on

the cake The first position was bagged by Nursery A and the first runner up was

Nursery B It was judged by Ms Ambika Gupta and Ms Jatinder Kaur

Charles Dickens play A Christmas Carol which showcased the

transformation of a miserly close hearted man to a magnanimous and kind

hearted man The play conveyed the message that Christmas is all about

giving and spreading happiness all around The vibrant play was a visual

treat to the senses and left the audience overwhelmed

The programme culminated with a promise to bring a ray of change in

students by inculcating right values and thereby contributing in building a

more progressive and peaceful society

December 2018 Model United Nations also known

as Model UN (MUN) Conference was organized in

which about 150 delegates from different schools

participated in this educational simulation

MUN is an educational academic activity in which students

can learn about diplomacy international relations and the

United Nations The programme aims to foster negotiation

speaking debating and writing skills in addition to critical

thinking teamwork and leadership abilities

Participants in Model United Nations conference known as

delegates were placed in committees and assigned countries

to represent or occasionally other organizations or political

figures where they represented members of that body

Assignments were presented to them in advance along with topics for discussion

Delegates conducted research before conferences and formulated positions They

then debated with their fellow delegates in the committee staying true to the actual

position of the country they represented

The purpose of this procedure is to familiarize delegates with the substantial topics

of debate encourage academic research and writing and to enable substantial

preparation for conference

The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Principal Madam

Vandana Dhupar The Vice Principal Dr Anita Dwivedi welcomed the guests and

for Women Empowerment and Child Development in the United Nations He

motivated the children to become responsible future citizens and praised the efforts

as Model UN (MUN) Conference was organized in

which about 150 delegates from different schools

participated in this educational simulation

MUN is an educational academic activity in which students

can learn about diplomacy international relations and the

United Nations The programme aims to foster negotiation

speaking debating and writing skills in addition to critical

thinking teamwork and leadership abilities

Participants in Model United Nations conference known as

delegates were placed in committees and assigned countries

to represent or occasionally other organizations or political

figures where they represented members of that body

Assignments were presented to them in advance along with topics for discussion

Delegates conducted research before conferences and formulated positions They

then debated with their fellow delegates in the committee staying true to the actual

position of the country they represented

The purpose of this procedure is to familiarize delegates with the substantial topics

of debate encourage academic research and writing and to enable substantial

preparation for conference

The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Principal Madam

children were told about the birth of Lord Jesus and the legend of Santa Claus To

illumine the essence of the day the students of class ll presented the theme talk

followed by the scintillating dance performance by the students of class l and

Choral Recitation by Nursery Arrival of Santa added happy smiles which were

amply visible on the faces of the children especially when Santa moved around

distributing sweets to them Jubilation and excitement filled the air as all were in

Christmas spirits

Melodious Choral Recitation competition by class Nursery was surely an icing on

the cake The first position was bagged by Nursery A and the first runner up was

Nursery B It was judged by Ms Ambika Gupta and Ms Jatinder Kaur

Fun march by our cute Santas of DPS Castle of Dreams was a head turner

Ms Remy Behl (Academic co-ordinator) appreciated the cute performances by our

Somvati Devi Shiksha Kendra and left the audience spellbound
