Bookies Book Group Book Sale (MHY)
Bookies Book Group will be holding a book sale, in the Library, every break and lunchtime during the week commencing Monday 2nd July. We would be grateful for any book donations for the sale. Please come and have a look, books will be reasonably priced and all proceeds will go to a local charity (yet to be decided by Bookies).

The Best Words. In the Best Place.
This week’s “Word of the Week” is … Tranquil (adjective) What does “tranquil” mean? Does is mean …? 1/ To be calm. 2/ To changing from a quill pen to a modern biro 3/ Difficult Answer: The answer is 1.
Examples: I like sitting by the sea. It is very tranquil. These words create a tranquil atmosphere. Critical Thinking: What is the best way to create a tranquil atmosphere in a room? Commendation Opportunities: Do you use this word? That’s your challenge. Try and use the word “ambivalent” in class in writing or in speech. You might get commended for an effective use of it! Break-through commendation: If you use it incorrectly first time, but try again, you might receive a break-through commendation!
