Michael is drawn to strong compositions, vibrant color, and bold lines. His figurative work and paintings of vintage Western nostalgia are widely appealing and have an edgy quality that is both contemporary and timeless.

Robert Dawson’s romance with the west started as a young boy growing up in Texas and has taken him to photograph some of the most beautiful and wildest places in America. When not on location he spends most of his time working horses and donating his

time and talent to raise money for local riding clubs at his home in Joseph, Oregon.

Whether painting the Native Americans in a dramatic, picturesque setting, or the American cowboy in dusty cattle-working pens, Martin Grelle captures the spirit, beauty, and vastness of the West in his historically-accurate, compelling

images. Grelle studies diligently to portray the diverse cultures of the American West accurately and with sensitivity. His knowledge of the cowboy’s way of life, gained from his time spent horseback on ranches during the annual Cowboy Artists of America’s (CAA) trail ride, as well as the time spent with local ranchers and friends, is evident in his contemporary cowboy paintings.

Martin Grelle

The basis of any good story is character development, and, like a good book, my motivation as an artist is to tell a story with the subjects of my paintings. My style is crossover – bridging the line between contemporary and traditional while applying the foundational

principals of design, value, and color. I use my training in graphic design and illustration to enhance my figures and subjects with patterns, color, and textures, often reinventing my reference to tell a story of another time and place.

Terry Cooke Hall

Terry has created a truly unique style. It reflects a combination of the old masters and a lot of “Terry Lee” bringing a new energy to wildlife art. Terry’s collectors experience a bold usage of color that is refreshingly different from anything they have ever

seen. As one admirer quoted at a recent gallery showing, “You are a breath of fresh air in a world of sameness.” Terry enjoys working on large canvas and many of his pieces are five to eight feet long, with some as large as ten feet.

No bike should spend its life on the sidewalk. That’s why Todd Van Fleet rescues bikes, “Snapping the shutter is the easy part. Finding the bikes is where the real adventure begins.” Todd rescues old cruiser bikes from the corners of barns, sheds, and attics;

then straps them to his back and hikes to far-flung, lonely landscapes giving each bike a story in a photo. Todd’s bold and whimsical scenes have earned him a spot as one of the nation’s leading lifestyle photographers.

Driven by design, I use simple shapes to establish a strong composition on the canvas. I then work the under-painting with dramatic color and texture for high visual impact. It is through my art form that I intuitively paint to express the worn rugged spirit of the American

West in my contemporary style. Every painting is an exploration of these experiences and my objective is to share them with the viewer.

Michael Swearngin

Rob Stern grew up on a small ranch near Billings, Montana. He was surrounded and influenced by the colors, smells and traditions of the old west. He credits his grandfather, a true cowboy as the most influential person in his life. His work is not exclusive to

one medium. Efforts include oil on canvas, acrylic on canvas, enamel on canvas, ink on bristle board, and serigraphy. Rob’s themes include art deco, nudes, abstracts, the old west and more.

“There are a lot of people,” begins Daniel Long Soldier, “who don’t know the history of our people as we know it. They have only heard one side of a story or what they have seen in Hollywood movies. The stories I’m telling I’ve heard from people who are

80 or 90 years old and heard these stories from their parents. These are the stories my grandpa, my uncles and my dad told me.”
