HIRSCH - HS Shape Molding MaschinesIt is the long-standing experience with shuttle machines that has formed the basis for the HIRSCH vacutrans HS concept. The shuttle movement facilitates very simple automatic stacking and free access for the mold change. HIRSCH is therefore the undisputed market leader with a market share of more than 80% in applications such as ICF´s (Insulated Concrete Forms) and other kinds of insert molding, dual density molding, surface conditioning (Glazing) and other industrial shape-molded parts, which require a shuttle movement on the machine.
Although designed for such highly specialized applications, the molding machines in the vacutrans HS line are also suitable for the production of any kind of standard EPS molded parts.
How do HIRSCH HS shape molding machines work?The HIRSCH vacutrans HS vacuum molding machines offer a single mold design and feature short cycle times, integrated automatic stacking and quick mold changes, guaranteeing economic EPS part production.
One of the HIRSCH vacutrans HS line’s major advantages over other machines is that the female mold, including the filling injectors and ejectors, moves out to the side (HIRSCH Shuttle Principle). This not only enables the finished parts to be stacked automatically, but also provides easier access for setup (the mold is changed as a unit outside of the tie-bar area) and ensures unrivaled fast mold-changing times.

• Automatic Insert Molding Unit Thanks to the HIRSCH Shuttle Principle the molding cycle is not interrupted, offering highest safety for operating personnel. Inserts made of plastic and metal can be produced continuously without loss of cycle time.
• Dual Density Unit Optional extra for manufacturing parts consisting of two different materials or densities.
• Skin Molding Unit The shuttle principle can also be used for inserting pre-cut polystyrene film for the production of skin molded parts.
• Glazing Special surface conditioning of e.g. seedling trays
• Expandable Polypropylene The HIRSCH shuttle machines can be adapted to run EPP products.
