with any questions you may have regarding

organising your special day. They will

assist in organising your wedding package

and any guest requirements relating to

accommodation, flights and transfers.

The Wedding Coordinator will contact you for

the finer details and arrangements regarding

the ceremony and your special day.

A personalised booking form upon request

can be created for you to distribute to

your guests, with details on how to book

accommodation and transfers.

YOUR LOCATION Heron Island is the perfect setting for a

wedding celebration of just 2, or up to 80. No

matter what the size of your celebration, you

will be offered personal service and attention

to detail.

WHERE DO WE HOLD OUR CEREMONY?Upon arrival at Heron Island your dedicated

Wedding Coordinator will show you the

different sites for you to select from for your

ceremony location. For a unique ceremony

experience, you can exchange your vows

on a number of different soft white powder

sand beaches located around Heron Island.

Alternatively, if you prefer a garden wedding

with an ocean view, then the resort is a

perfect location for your special moment.

GETTING THEREHeron Island lies on the Tropic of Capricorn,

72 kilometers off the coast of Gladstone.

Regular flights are available from Australian

capital cities to Gladstone with Qantas and

Virgin Australia. You can transfer to Heron

Island from Gladstone by boat charter, or view

the spectacular reef by seaplane or helicopter

transfer.

HOW WILL OUR FRIENDS TRAVEL TO & FROM HERON ISLAND?By distributing your invitations well in

advance, your guests can easily make

arrangements to book their accommodation

and transfers through the Reservations Team.

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS To marry in Australia you must be 18 years of

age or over. Documents that may be required

from your celebrant include:

• Birth Certificate

• Valid 10 year passport

• If divorced – Decree Absolute

• If widowed – Death Certificate of former

spouse and previous Marriage Certificate

• If your name has changed by deed poll –

legal proof

• Notice of Intended Marriage – available

from the Australian Embassy in your

country

Originals of all documents including Notice of

Intended Marriage are required at the resort

before the ceremony.

YOUR CELEBRANT A list of our highly recommended and trusted

celebrants has been included in this brochure

for your reference. Couples are more than

welcome to select from these experienced

individuals or branch out externally.

The Heron Island team are here to assist

in every aspect of the selection process

to ensure you have the right person to

contribute to your special day.

Included in all wedding packages is the

celebrant’s fee. The marriage celebrant will

discuss with you the legal procedures, as well

as the ceremony content.

FLOWERSA wedding bouquet for the bride and a

button hole for the groom are included in

some of the wedding packages. Additional

flowers can be arranged for your ceremony

or reception. Please note that due to Parks &

Wildlife restrictions, we can only use artificial

flowers on Heron Island.

special days location may be easier once you arrive on the island where your Wedding

Coordinator can take you on a site inspection.

PANDANAS LOUNGE (MEZZANINE LEVEL)

A relaxing and private area for small intimate

gatherings. This area is perfect for small sit

down dinners or cocktail parties.

Starting from $500* (2hr duration), $200 per extra hour Minimum of 10 guests & maximum of 40 guests

SHEARWATER RESTAURANT Is the only restaurant on the island and

should your group be small and intimate,

the restaurant is available to you as a casual

dinning experience. It should also be noted

that dining in the restaurant is not exclusive

to your party and other resort guests will also

be dining.

Additional charges may apply Maximum of 12 guests

WISTARI TERRACE A perfect location for a cocktail reception with

views of the magnificent Heron Island Reef.

This area is ideal for champagne and pre-

dinner drinks before the reception formalities.


WISTARI ROOM Located near the resort facilities and

overlooks the stunning Heron reef. This area

can fit up to 80 guests. With glass doors

that open out onto the Wistari Terrace, it is a

perfect location to enjoy the sunset.


Where else can you have your wedding reception back drop as the Great Barrier Reef.
