AUTUMN 2009

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are delighted to present you with our new Foreign Rights Guide for the autumn and winter months of 2009.

We would particularly like to draw your attention to Sylvia Schopf’s enthralling collection of stories for children adapted from classic theatre masterpieces and including not only Shakespeare but also a number of other well-known European playwrights.

For most children, Christmas is the best time of the year, full of anticipation and excitement. Our new Christmas books will entertain impatient children and shorten the wait until Christmas Eve.

As usual we have several instructive storybooks, for example “The Big Mess” in which children learn the importance of tidying up and how to go about it. For older readers we would like to recommend two new books which address the difficult topics of ethics and politics, making them accessible to children and encouraging children to become involved.

Joachim Lerch has produced a sequel to his successful book of experiments from Science House, this time all about the subject of global climate change.

Young readers will be captivated by Karin Baron’s sensitive and exciting story of Yane, who lives with her grandfather on an old ferry boat. And of course Lea Whirlwind is back again to delight readers with her antics while Ingrid Uebe tells 12 loving tales about angels, one for each month of the year.

The year is full of festivities and the coming year is no exception. “Herder’s Yearbook of Customs and Festivals” is a wonderfully informative book on the origin of traditional feast days and how to celebrate them.

For children celebrating their First Communion, we have three attractive albums, in which they can store photos and mementoes of their special day. “My Baptism” is a treasured album of memories to look back on a child’s christening.

And last but not least, we have a lovely little collection of prayers to offer, complete with a glow-in-the-dark guardian angel to watch over children as they sleep at night.

If you have any questions or would like to receive further information concerning the titles in this catalogue, please contact us. We look forward to hearing from you!
