S tudent Farewells We would like to farewell all the students and families that are leaving our school and in particular our year seven students and families who have completed their schooling at Hendon.

Our year 7s have had a very successful year utilising their keys to success –Their getting along, organization, persistence, resilience and confidence skills to enable them to be successful leaders across our school. They have represented and supported our school in numerous ways including peer tutoring, lunch play leaders, in SAPSASA events, house leaders, assembly comperes, as traffic monitors, in choir, on camp, as SRC reps, SRC Exec and as school monitors. They have been fabulous role models for others. We would like to wish them the very best for their futures.

S taff Farewells We would like to acknowledge and farewell several staff who have now officially retired from teaching - Lil Weston, Nicky Popierinskas and

Robin Johnson. They have made enormous contr ibutions to teaching young people at Hendon and we wish them the very best for their retirement. We also farewell and thank many contract staff including Larissa Svanbaeck, Alison Hepple, Greg Hurnall, Laura Woods and Barb Thredgold. Chris Elliott is also retir ing at the end of this year . Her contr ibutions to the Hendon School Community have been outstanding. She is an inspirational member of staff giving amazing support to our students and their families over many years with their learning and emotional and social wellbeing. Chris will be missed across the whole school community; she has mentored, coached, supported and inspired students, parents and staff over many years and will be an enormous loss to our school. We wish her a wonderful and well deserved retirement.

In Week 1 this term the year 7 students along with staff attended a three day Aquatics camp in Port Vincent.

The activities, all led by professional aquatics instructors, included Windsurfing, Knee boarding, Sailing and Canoeing. The students had an amazing time.

By the end of the camp their water skills, confidence and persistence had greatly improved.

Hendon Peer Mediators and Play at Lunchtime students had a great day celebrating at the Mt. Thebarton Ice Arena as a reward for all their commitment and contributions during the

year.
