Helping to improve bathing waters across the Fylde coast Our work in Blackpool South
Helping to improve bathing waters across the Fylde coast Our work on Highfield Road and Midgeland Road
When it pours down in Blackpool the sewer system can quickly fill up with rainwater Once the sewer pipes are full this water containing diluted sewage has to go somewhere At the moment it backs up in our sewers and eventually spills over into the sea which can pollute our bathing water
What will we be doing bull Building a new surface water pumping
station bull Separating the non-harmful rainwater bull Building a new underground stormwater tank
You will have noticed we have done a lot of work in the area to reduce the volume of surface water entering our sewer network but there is still lots of work to do
Whatrsquos next So that we can lay our new surface water pipe we have to put in place a number of traffic diversions in the Blackpool south area To help us keep on track wersquoll have several teams working in different locations at the same time
Christmas During the Christmas period we will be removing all traffic management in between Christmas and New year

n How will this affect you
Noise and vibration This type of work will require some big machinery that will be noisy and will cause vibrations Wersquoll do all that we can to keep this to a minimum
Traffic You will see extra construction vehicles coming to site whilst we carry out the work We will need to put in place some temporary traffic management lane closures and on occasions close roads to carry out our work
Working hours Our normal working hours will be Monday to Friday from 730am until 630pm and 8am to 6pm on Saturdays We will let residents know if we need to temporarily change our working hours at any time during the project
Customer centre We have a dedicated customer centre for the duration of the project which is next to our construction site on Highfield Road Opening hours are 11am-1pm Mondays and Tuesdays Please pop in to discuss any concerns or to find out more about our project

Noise and vibration This type of work will require some big machinery that will be noisy and will cause vibrations Wersquoll do all that we can to keep this to a minimum
Traffic You will see extra construction vehicles coming to site whilst we carry out the work We will need to put in place some temporary traffic management lane closures and on occasions close roads to carry out our work
Working hours Our normal working hours will be Monday to Friday from 730am until 630pm and 8am to 6pm on Saturdays We will let residents know if we need to temporarily change our working hours at any time during the project
Customer centre We have a dedicated customer centre for the duration of the project which is next to our construction site on Highfield Road Opening hours are 11am-1pm Mondays and Tuesdays Please pop in to discuss any concerns or to find out more about our project
