Heart Summit 2018Target Audience: Cardiovascular Surgeons, Physicians, Nurses and Allied Health Professionals
This course will provide physicians, nurses and allied health professionals with cutting edge information regarding the most current management of heart disease and related disorders.
Objectives: At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:1. Identify drugs and therapies along with risks for hypertension2. Understand rational for use of pump supported PCI3. Identify which patients are at risk for primary pulmonary arterial hypertension4. Recognize oncology therapies with potential long term cardiac issues5. Review new drugs with cardiovascular and diabetic benefit6. Understand new guidelines and indications for cardiac resynchronization therapy7. Discuss prevalence and treatment of central sleep apnea in patients with heart failure and atrial fibrillation8. Review the prevalence and outcomes associated with functional mitral regurgitation in heart failure patients9. Understand the pathophysiology by which functional mitral regurgitation worsens heart failure outcomes10. Discuss the implications of recent clinical trials evaluating the reduction of functional mitral regurgitation in heart failure patients.
