The foregoing doctors and dentists obtained their information
through diligent researchincluding referring to the works of
scientists such as Virginia Department of Health ToxicologistBrian
A. Dementi , PhD, Risk Assessment Specialist Kathleen M. Thiessen ,
PhD, NeurotoxicologistPhyllis Mullenix , PhD, EPA Scientist William
Hirzy , PhD and Chemist Paul Connett , PhD.
The above scientists’ documentation of the toxicity and harm
done by the practice of water
fluoridation stands in stark contrast to the information
provided by Michael W. Easley , DDS,
MPH, in his Florida Journal of Environmental Health article
titled “Perspectives on the ScienceSupporting Florida’s Public
Health Policy for Community Water Fluoridation.” Misinformationsuch
as that on pages 2 and 4 under the headings “Systemic Sources of
Fluoride” and “Is theAmount of Fluoride in Fluoridated Water
Systems Safe?” was used as reference material by theFlorida
Department of Health when writing their Policy Statement on
Community WaterFluoridation. The Collier County Health Department,
the people of Collier County and thecitizens of the State of
Florida need to demand that the Florida Department of Health
use
appropriate scientific references when considering the subject
of water fluoridation.
Instead of the ADA and the Oral Health Division of the CDC, it
would be more appropriate for
the Florida Department of Health to consult toxicologists , risk
assessment specialists,
chemists, informed dental and medical professionals and other
related scientists.
The Florida Department of Health is not protecting the health of
the community when they donot inform the public of the
following:
*Distribution of a drug via the water supply is not a sound
pharmacological practice.*Fluoride is not a nutrient ; it is a
neurotoxin with substantial evidence of neurotoxicity. (EPA)
*Hydrogen fluoride is produced in an infant’s stomach when powdered
formula and CWF mix.*Hydrogen Fluoride is listed as a special
health hazard substance by the State of New Jersey.*The CDC says
hydrogen fluoride damages cells and causes them to not work
properly.*Presently 314 studies have investigated fluoride’s
effects on t he brain and nervous system.*To date, there have been
49 studies showing an association between fluoride exposure &
reduced IQ.
*The medical definitions of fluorosis are being ignored.*Surveys
show an alarming increase in severe dental fluorosis rates.*African
Americans should be warned they are especially vulnerable to harm
from fluorides.*Cosmetic dental repair is difficult and it is
expensive . *There is no medical or dental justification for giving
fluoride to persons with dental fluorosis.*The EPA fired
toxicologist who refused to quit reporting fluoride carcinogenicity
and toxicity.*Dr. Waldbott’s work confirms Feltman and Kosel’s
findings that 1% are sensitive to fluoride.*Toxicological Profile
says fluoride puts elderly, people with kidney problems and others
at risk.*It has been documented that fluoridated water has damaged
animals including horses . *AMA endorsement of the principle of
fluoridation actually helps water fluoridation opponents.
If truly concerned about tooth decay, then identify sugar
consumption as a major problem.
*The higher the sugar consumption… the higher the dental caries
increment. Even a low level ofsugar consumption was related to
dental caries, despite the use of fluoride.
