HEALTH AND HYGIENE WEEK REPORT – 8TH OCTOBER-12TH OCTOBER
Sunday - 8/10/2017
: EVENT - Introduction on healthy food and hygiene
Speech by the Class teacher on the importance of eating healthy food and
maintaining a healthy life style.
Monday – 9/10/2017
EVENT - P.P.T. on Healthy food:
Students were explained about healthy food and diet that has to be followed.
Tuesday – 10/10/2017
EVENT - In house activities (Food Groups):
The students were asked to divide a paper plate into four columns and write down
the names of food groups in those columns using pictures of different food groups.
Wednesday – 11/10/2017
EVENT - Assembly presented by Grade 3D On “Health and Hygiene”.
The students of Grade 3D fervently presented a meaningful Assembly to mark the Healthy Food week in the month of October. They highlighted the importance of eating healthy food and inculcating best eating habits at home.
EVENT - A Programme on Kiwi Fruit by Zespri Brand:
Zespri, a Kiwi fruit brand conducted a programme on the health benefits of eating
Kiwi fruit.
They also provided a gift pack to all the students.
Thursday – 12/10/2017
EVENT – “My Healthy Sandwich Day”:
All the students were informed to get the necessary food items required to prepare a
healthy sandwich.
The students made their own sandwiches and relished it.
SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON HEALTH AND HYGIENE BY THE STUDENTS OF 3D.
EVENT –
A Programme by Dettol : A show was organized in the school auditorium on the 15th of October, 2017 by Dettol . The show was an effort to raise awareness about the importance of hand washing with soap to prevent infection and disease.
ENGLISH:
Pupils were excited about examining stories in an angle and analyzing it into five parts of a story plan. They also came up with innovative ideas for story setting.
ACADEMICS – A GLANCE
MATH: Addition and Subtraction of money was done by activities like buying items from a shop, These activities gave students the real life experience and could understand the transaction of adding money and giving change after subtracting from the total amount. Students enjoyed the activity and grasped the concept well.
SCIENCE- Topics in Science were related to the Health and Hygiene Awareness Week. Children were encouraged to eat a balanced diet, explaining the disadvantages of junk food and the importance of keeping themselves , home , school and surrounding clean.
LEARNING CENTRE:
Learning Centre lesson is conducted weekly for the Grade 3 students. This is to engage students in
independent, group and self-directed learning activities. This will help the students to enhance their
skills and experience their understanding. The different centers are Literacy Center, Math Center,
Reading Center, Creative Center, and ICT Center.
