Classes are held at the Fitness Connec- tion, located in Bldg. 4027, on Alexander Rd., and offer a wide variety of cardiovascular and toning classes for every level of fitness. The classes utilize the latest types of fitness equipment such as: Urban Rebounders, Cycle Classes, Body Blades, Core Boards, and BOSUs. This test estimates the strength of your bones. There are several different ways to measure BMD. One way to measure, and the test we offer, is by heel ultrasound, which is painless and does not expose you to X-rays. This test is available to you FREE through Semper Fit. RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate) Testing: RMR (resting metabolic rate) Testing: this is an excellent opportunity to find out how many calories your body burns, while at rest. Services are available to calculate your individual Basal Metabolic Rate. There is a $10 fee for this service (free for AD/retirees/reservists). Appointments must be made in advance. Nutrition Review & Health Assesment: A nutritional review is done with each client. Assessments include keeping a 1-week food log, cholesterol screening, blood glucose levels, resting metabolic rate testing, body composition, vitals, etc. Goal setting, recommendations & resource materials are given to each client. Monthly follow-up appts. are conducted for 4 months. There is a $20 fee for this service (free for AD/retirees/reserv- ists). Call the Semper Fit Center for appointment or more information on any item listed above; 466-6467/7201. Tobacco Cessation: "The Great American Smoke-out" is observed every November and the "Great American Spit Out" is observed every February. On both of the event dates Tobacco products will not be sold on base. (Exact dates change each year, please look out for information regarding the specific day for that year). Personal Training: One-on-One or Buddy: (Includes Physical Fitness Assessment) This includes one month, two times a week with a nationally certified trainer, personalized workout program, nutrition information and physical fitness progress monitoring, this assessment determines Body Composition, Blood Pressure, Aerobic Capacity, Flexibility, & Strength. HITT Program (for active duty only): The High Intensity Tactical Training (HITT) program is a comprehensive combat-specific strength & conditioning program that is essential to a Marines physical development, combat readiness and resilience. At the HITT Center Marines are trained in the different components of performance enhancement training which will develop superior speed, power, strength and endurance and overall combat readiness while reducing the risk of injury. HITT Center is located in Bldg 3471, Hancock Racquetball courts, between the Fire Station and Hancock Fitness Center Units may also schedule Unit PTs and HITT programs.
