    Dear Parents and Carers,

    Thank you for all your support and good wishes throughout this last academicyear; it is always very much appreciated.

    As you will have read in Christs Chronicles, our pupils have access to abreadth of experiences on offer to enrich their learning and I am grateful to workwith so many colleagues who are willing to provide this essential dimension toour remarkable school.

    We recently held our summer production ofZorro! and enjoyed a wealth oftalent from a large group of our pupils, who provided an entertaining evening forparents and friends. Congratulations to all those who took part and to Mr Wilson,Ms Brown, Mrs Busby, Mr Blaxland and the rest of the technical team fororganizing and producing such a wonderful evening.

    To celebrate the London 2012 Olympics, we recently took part in the WorldSports Day organised by the Richmond School Sports Partnership. Pupils had todesign an Olympic Torch and a group ran to Grey Court School to presentChrists Schools torch. Dorsa Nasrollahi, year 9, designed our Olympic torchwhich was made by our Design Technology technician Mr Gray.

    As this academic year comes to a close we do say goodbye to a number of staffwho are leaving for a variety of reasons. They are Mr Colvin, Mr Elliott, MissDeadman, Mrs Parmiter, Mr Blaxland, Mrs Swan, Ms Walsh, Miss Smith, MissBell and Mrs Elvey. Of these, Mr Eliott, Mrs Elvey (canteen) and Mrs Parmiterare retiring after many years service to education and Christs School in

    particular. Mrs Swan is leaving to take up a promotion to Deputy Headteacher inNorfolk, Ms Walsh to complete her postgraduate studies. We wish them well forthe future and thank them for their contribution to Christs School. Mrs Bean hasrecently started maternity leave and I am sure that you will join me incongratulating her on the arrival of her new son Edward.

    I am sure that you will join me in welcoming them to Christ's and wishing themwell for the time that they are with us. We will also welcome back Miss Taberafter her sabbatical in South America.

    Mr Butler has been appointed as an acting Assistant Headteacher for the nextacademic year and Miss Hoyle will be acting Subject Leader for Humanities forthis time. Mr Spicer has been appointed Head of Year 9 and Miss Taylor hasbeen appointed as Subject Leader for PACE.

    We will be re-launching a House system next year for many reasons, not least tocelebrate success across the school. To this end we have appointed Mr McPaul,

    Ms Moran, Ms Perkins and Mr Roderick as Heads of House.

    Please use the holiday period to refresh uniform and equipment requirements so

    that pupils are ready to begin in September without unnecessary and avoidableconfrontation. All pupils will be expected to revert to the normal school uniform ofshirt and tie. The skirt for girls has changed and is now a navy blue pleated skirtavailable to purchase online. If a skirt is worn then socks can be black or white,short or long; alternatively black or navy blue tights may be worn. May I alsoremind you that- school will begin for pupils at 8.30am every morning- pupils cycling to school MUST wear a cycle helmet- uniform should be worn properly from home to school and from school to

    home. School shoesshould be worn NOT trainers or leisure type plimsolls.
