Using EDCAM you cancollate, access, control and maintain drawings securely, quickly andaccurately. We can use it to tailor a system that fulfils your individual siterequirements, or we can use the software of your choice to manage yourdrawings for you.
3D laser scanning
Our 3D laser scanner is a portable powerhouse ofpossibilities. From dimensional inspections of equipment toarea surveys, from reverse engineering to wear analysis, thepotential of 3D laser scanning in the mining and heavyindustries is extraordinary. We own and operate a state-of-the-art Leica P30 3D laser scanner and have the latestsoftware to analyse and develop the point clouds it creates (apoint cloud being data that describes the geometry of aphysical object). The Leica P30 uses a line of sight laser todigitally capture the shape of any physical object at onemillion laser measurement points per second to create a 3Dcomputer model of your object’s exact size and shape.

There are so many industrial applications with portable 3Dlaser scanning, the horizon really is endless.
n Reverse engineering and modification — Traditionalsite measuring processes are relegated when an accurate 3Dcomputer model can be used to modify designs and developnew equipment.
n Deformation and wear analysis — Inspection reportscan be generated to show deviations from theoriginal/correct geometry and where those deviations are.Reports can be generated to compare previous scans,allowing for continuous monitoring for wear or deformation.
n Incident investigations — Dimensional inspections ofcomplex areas or equipment can be carried out, with highdetail, allowing for remote and delayed interrogation, withthe advantage that no information or dimensions are missed.
n Area survey — A detailed survey of any area can be donewith as few as three survey points. The result is a scan withfull contours and survey data in whatever level of detail yourequire, plus a full, realistic picture of the area.
n Safety — scanning can be used to inspect areas such asconfined spaces or the inside of bins or vessels, withoutputting personnel at risk.
n As-built — As-built drawings can be verified or createdfrom 3D scanned data.
n Cultural Heritage — Objects, sculptures – even buildings– can be scanned without risk of damage to the original.
