Learning Objectives:
• Identify features of effective adverts.
• Create slogan/ advert to promote a product.
Why is it necessary?
Ofcom regulates the TV and radio sectors plus telecoms and mobiles. Its job is to draw up a code to ensure standards in programmes, sponsorship and privacy.
What is OFCOM?
• Now it is your job to market a product...• You will get the name of a product and
its target audience. Your job is to market the product in such a way that it will appeal to the target audience.
• For example
toothpaste
teenage boy.
FRESHBREATH:
The product will keep your breath minty fresh for up to twelve hours after use. If you want to make a good impression on the girls: use freshbreath!
Success Criteria:• 1, Presentation- Use colours, shapes and styles that will
appear to your audience. E.g. Pink is often perceived to appeal to women.
• 2, Content- Include information which will tempt the target audience. You must be able to justify why you have used this-
eg, You might talk about minty fresh breath to teenage boys who may typically be quite self conscious about their appearance.
3, Speaking- Everyone in the group must have something to say when presenting their ideas to the class. Be sensible and speak with loud clear voices.
