Superior, Safe and flexible ventilation options are
primary benefits of HBS Turn-Tilt / Tilt-Turn windows.
Tilt allows for partial ventilation.
- Hot air vent via the top of the window whilst the
Sash remains locked and safe.

position. Rain water will be drained off.
Turn allows for full open ventilation.
- Cleaning externally of the Sash and any side lights
can be done in this position.
Tilt
- Compliance of the HBS Tilt-Turn Window to SANS613 A4 performance
class allows it to be specified and installed in almost all occurring
conditions in South Africa and regionally.
- Center Seal provides a continuous seal all round.
- Water deflector gasket provides great Run-off.
- 3 or 6 lock points provide locking power up to A4 Class.
- Glazing from 5 - 27mm can be accommodated in HBS Turn-Tilt.
- U-values down to 3.4 can readily be accomplished with a standard
6-12-6 LowE glazing units*.
- Safety Glass can be incorporated to increase the overall level of
security.
- HBS100 kit offers 3 point active locking providing increased safety
and intrusion resistance.
- HBS200 and HBS 300 kits offer up to 6 point active locking.
- HBS 300 offers Tilt only option
- Keyed, lockable handles are offered for all Kits.
Pneumatic and Manual punch tools are available from HBS.
The benefits include :

- Consistent accuracy and product finish.
- Assembly time is reduced with correctly punch and prepared profiles.
- Reduced wastage due to machining errors.
- 45mm frame module provides for a capable but cost-effective product.
- Turn-Tilt can be used as a standalone or be incorporated directly into :
- HBS Advantage Curtain Wall
- HBS Window Wall
- HBS Galaxy Slider.

- Select kit type 100,200 or 300 depending on
sash size, weight and opening type required.
- Minimum sash sizes indicated are determined
by the size of kit components
- For Sashes < 650mm height the handle will
sit below center line. Calculate AB590 Lock
rods manually.
- Maximum sizes are governed by sash profile
inertia to allow for comfortable operation and
performance to SANS613 A4 class.
- Maximum sash weight is 90Kg.
- Thermal performance and U-value is
governed largely by size of sash and glass
selection. Use Quick Quote to calculate.

Disclaimer
Due to HBS's policy of continual research and development to improve our products, to ensure they complywith the latest building codes and requirements, details and specifications contained herein are subject tochange at HBS's discretion. The responsibility remains with the fabricatorto ensure that he is working, and is familiar, with the latest edition of this manual It is assumed, that inaccepting the information contained herein, that the contractor or fabricator has acquainted himself with thenecessary skills and machinery required to effect this type of work and that he has the necessary draughting, factory and site resources and expertise necessary to undertake the fabrication and installation of a productof this nature.
All I-values, strength and loading charts provided herein are for information only and it expected that thefabricator will ensure that his engineer has checked and confirmed that the details and strengthsrecommendations comply with his particular contracts requirements.
Care and Maintenance
Aluminium is an excellent material, nonetheless certain precautions should be taken to ensuremaximum longevity. HBS products should be periodically maintained and their use should be inaccordance with specified aims.
Profiles
Recommendations should be followed. When the environment contains no aggressive elements, as is generally the case in rural or low densityurban areas, cleaning should generally be carried out annually, but with frequency variationsaccording to environmental conditions. Regularly maintained surfaces can be sponge-washed usingwater and neutral detergent. This may be carried out at the same time as window cleaning.Do not use abrasive products.
Glass
Cleaning should be carried out using water only or with neutral detergents. Avoid the use of toolslikely to scratch the glass. During maintenance, care should be taken to avoid damage leading totearing of weathering barriers. Some special glazing requires specific maintenance which should bespecified by the glass supplier.
Drainage
The various rebates, gutters, and rails should be kept clean and free from obstructions to ensureproper movement of leaves and drainage of water ingress.Drainage, guttering and pressure balancing openings should also be kept clean and free fromobstruction.
Hardware
Moving parts should be checked, adjusted, and lubricated at least once a year. Particular attentionshould be paid to screw tightening. In the case of intensive use, maintenance should be suitablyscheduled to ensure joinery remains in good condition and meets safety standards. All non-plastic mechanisms should be lubricated with oil or resin- and acid-free grease. Any damagedparts should be replaced. All lock mechanisms and moving parts should be lubricated. Do not lubricate hinges.
Powder Coating
Powder coating is preferred to anodising for the following reasons:
· Anodising exposes the most discrete die lines, powder coating tends to minimise the impact of die lines· Anodising colour variations are common place; with powder coating colour variations are uncommon· Anodising has directionality which means that transoms and mullions may appear to have a different colour, this does not happen with powder coating· Anodising is difficult if not impossible to clean especially if covered with mortar; powder coating is moreforgiving and easier to clean.
