HOUSEHOLD WASTE

Please put all household waste in the City-issued green garbage container and place it at the curb no later than 7 a.m. on your collection day. The handle of the garbage can should face toward your home for the truck’s hydraulic “arm” to grab it. Also, because it is an automated process, please keep in

mind that the City is only able to pick up household waste in the City-issued green garbage container. Please don’t place extra bags or other trash cans out at the curb, and keep the green container 3 feet from all objects.

Should you need an extra green garbage container, please call us at 352-241-7320. These can be provided by the City for an additional fee.

Please note that some items cannot be collected or put in your City-provided green garbage con-tainer. These include liquids, building materials, dead animals and hazardous materials.

Household waste includes kitchen trash, non-recyclables, packaging, etc.

Use the City-provided green garbage can in-stead of other garbage cans and containers.

YARD WASTE

Although small amounts of yard waste may be added to the City-provided green garbage container, larger amounts should be neatly stacked, bagged or tied in bundles. Bags should not weigh more than 50 pounds each.

Please don’t put bun-dles in other, non-City garbage cans or contain-ers.

Please cut tree limbs and landscaping materi-al to no longer than four feet in length and to no more than six inches in diameter.

Contractors performing yard services, land-scaping or tree services are responsible for re-moving all waste from the property.

Yard waste includes raked leaves, shrub clippings, branches, etc.

As you trim branches, keep the trash pick-up in mind, and cut four-foot pieces, stacking as you go.

APPLIANCES & ELECTRONICS

These include grills, refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, water heat-ers, televisions, DVD players, VCRs, computers, stere-os, CD players and fax machines.

BULK ITEMS

For your con-venience, these may be placed with regular yard waste for pick-up.

The City will pick up your old computer.
