Hello once again to your handy local guide, featuring some of the best local companies. We also want to help to highlight local groups and clubs, so if you are involved in any, please get in touch. My phone number or email on the left of this page. Did you know? This magazine is delivered to 5000 local homes, How much could that exposure help your group / club or event? This month, as part of our series looking at ideas for a new hobby, we look at bee keeping. This is something I’m very keen to take up myself and recently went on an “Introduction to Bee keeping” course. The more I’ve read and learnt about these creatures, the more impressed and fascinated I am with them. So, if anyone has a quiet area in a garden or field where I could put a hive or two…. 5th- 7th September “Gladfest” North Wales & Chester’s Affordable Literary Festival Gladstone’s Library, Hawarden. Internationally renowned writers, Bookshop, Craft market, Food, fun & festivity, Children’s Activities.

Play Bridge at Hawarden The Hawarden Bridge Club (established 1964) meets in the Hawarden Institute on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 7 pm. We are a small unaffiliated club playing basic duplicate bridge with electronic scoring. At present we have about 24 players including two EBU qualified directors, new members and visitors are always welcome. Hawarden Community Walks Free guided walks are available from the Hawarden Institute every Friday at 10.00am with a choice of 60/90 minute walks. There is a choice of slow or medium pace. Walks take place in the afternoon at 1.30pm. Further information is available from Colin Herbert on 01244534637
