• ForthebestexperiencewiththeOneNotepackageandtemplate,pleaseuseaWindowsdevicewithOneNoteforDesktopversions2010,2013or2016.OpeningaNotebookwillautomaticallyrequirethepackagefiletosynctoyourdevice’sspecificversionofOneNote.

Part 2: Downloading OneNote Templates Create a new folder for Notebook in OneDrive for Business

1. UsingMISID,loginOffice365andthenopenyourOneDrivefilelibrary.

2. CreateanewfolderanduseanamethatwillbecomethenewOneNoteNotebookfile name.Werecommendusingashortfilename,egJJonesLT19. Download and Save Notebook

3. Findtheemailfromqcechaltprogram@qcec.catholic.edu.authathastheOneNotetemplateattached(youwillhavebeensenteitherHATorLEADdependingonthecareer stageyounominatedinyourNotificationofIntentiontoApplyform.

4. BrowseandselectalocationtosavetheNotebooktemplateto(forexample,Desktop, yourHdriveetc.)

5. GotothedownloadedzipfolderandextracttheNotebookcontentsbyright-clickingthe zipfolderthen.

Windows: select‘Extractall’,browseandselectlocation(egdesktop,Hdrive),select‘Extract’Mac: select‘Openwith’,select‘ArchiveUtility’

6. Opentheextractedfolderandthenopenthefolderinside.Thisfoldercontainsthefiles thatmakeuptheNotebook.Eachfileisasection.

Open and Sync Notebook 8. InOneDrive,openthenewlycreatedfolderwheretheNotebookcontentswere copied(Diagram3).

9. Selectthefilewithextension‘.onetoc2’whichwillopentheNotebookinOneNote Online(Diagram3).

10. InNotebookOnline,select‘OpeninOneNote’inthetopmenutosynctheNotebooktothedevicespecificOneNoteonaWindowsorMacdevice.Thisprocesswill:

11. Usingadeviceofyourchoice,gotoOneDrivetoopentheNotebookandselect‘OpeninOneNote’.ThisprocesswillsynctheNotebookfromOneNoteOnlinetoadevicespecificversionofOneNote.

EdittheNotebookusingthedevicespecificversionofOneNote.EachversionofOne-Noteprovidesadifferentrangeoffeatures.Forexample,currentlyOneNoteforDesktop(2016)providesfeaturesthatarenotavailableinOneNoteOnlineandOneNoteforMac.IfyouexperiencedifficultiesusingOneNotefordesktoporMac,tryusingOneNoteonline.

Part 3: Setting up, using and sharing the HAT and LT

OneNote Template Thefollowingsectionprovidesadviceabouthowtosetupanduseyourtemplate,completeyourtemplate,exportyourNotebookandthenZiptheNotebookasafiletoshare.

From a device specific version of OneNote1. File>Export/SaveAs>Export/SaveCurrent:Notebook>Select/SaveFileformat:OneNotePackage(*.ONEPKG)>Export/Savetoyourdownloadfolder,desktop,Hdrive,Cdrive,etc.2. Ifthefileislargerthan2GB,youmustzipthefilebeforeitisuploadedasthisisthemaximumfilesize.ToZipafilerightclickonthefile>Sendto>Compressed(Zip)Folder.Ifthefileissmallerthan2GB,werecommendthatyouzipitanyway.3. Ifyouhaveindividualfiles(eg.PDFs,videofiles,etc)aswellasyourOneNotefile,thesemustbezippedwiththeOneNotefilebeforethezipfileisuploadedtotheQCTPortal.Pleasenameandnumberanyindividualfileswithinthezipfilesothatitiseasyforassessorstoidentifythem.
