Many of us have come from different faith traditions; some from no tradition. All of us may have been drawn to this sacred space seeking answers to life’s deeper questions. Wherever life is taking you, know that we are honored by your presence and invite you to experience God’s life-giving grace with us at Christ Church Cathedral. As a community of faith we celebrate God’s graciousness by proclaiming in word and deed that God’s love is abundant and unconditional. At the Lord’s Table, all baptized are welcome to receive Communion. You are in a sacred space. Please turn off your cell phones and refrain from texting and all conversations once the prelude begins. Assisted hearing devices are available in the back of the church. An usher will be happy to assist you. Please join us for Fellowship Hour in the Auditorium following the service. Hymns are in The Hymnal 1982 and Lift Every Voice and Sing (LEVAS).

There are no hymns and the first reading will not be read at the 8 a.m. service. The Gloria is recited at the 8:00 a.m. service. It can be found on page 356 of the Book of Common Prayer.

SAN LUCAS 19:28-40

Jesús siguió su viaje a Jerusalén. Cuando ya había llegado cerca de Betfagé y Betania, junto al monte que se llama

de los Olivos, envió a dos de sus discípulos, diciéndoles: Vayan a la aldea que está enfrente, y al llegar encontrarán

un burro atado, que nadie ha montado todavía. Desátenlo y tráiganlo. Y si alguien les pregunta por qué lo desatan,

díganle que el Señor lo necesita. Los discípulos fueron y lo encontraron todo como Jesús se lo había dicho.

Mientras estaban desatando el burro, los dueños les preguntaron: ¿Por qué lo desatan? Ellos contestaron: Porque

el Señor lo necesita. Y poniendo sus capas sobre el burro, se lo llevaron a Jesús y lo hicieron montar. Conforme

After telling a parable to the crowd at Jericho, Jesus went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. When he had come

near Bethphage and Bethany, at the place called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of the disciples, saying, "Go

into the village ahead of you, and as you enter it you will find tied there a colt that has never been ridden. Untie

it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, 'Why are you untying it?' just say this, 'The Lord needs it.'" So those who

were sent departed and found it as he had told them. As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, "Why

are you untying the colt?" They said, "The Lord needs it." Then they brought it to Jesus; and after throwing their

cloaks on the colt, they set Jesus on it. As he rode along, people kept spreading their cloaks on the road. As he

was now approaching the path down from the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to

praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the deeds of power that they had seen, saying, "Blessed is the king

who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest heaven!" Some of the Pharisees in

the crowd said to him, "Teacher, order your disciples to stop." He answered, "I tell you, if these were silent, the

stones would shout out."

by those who spread their garments and branches of palm along his way. Let these branches be for us signs of his

victory, and grant that we who bear them in his name may ever hail him as our King, and follow him in the way

that leads to eternal life; who lives and reigns in glory with you and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
