Jammu, May 24: Accus-ing the BJP of duplicity and double standards, Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) chairman and former minister Harsh Dev Singh today said while on one hand saffron leaders are hailing the award conferred upon Major Leetul Gagoi, but on the contrary, their own government had refused to withdraw the FIR against the brave-heart.

Singh demanded that FIR registered against Major Leetul Gagoi be withdrawn otherwise a massive agitation in Jammu will be launched.

While addressing press conference here today, Singh regretted that despite the country wide applause and appreciation for Major Gagoi for his act of valour, the BJP-PDP Government had reg-istered an FIR against the national hero at the behest of anti-nationals and other sepa-ratist forces.

He regretted that even the most convincing reasoning given by the army officer for using the ring leader of stone pelters as human shield went unheeded with BJP partnered government announcing to

proceed with the investiga-tions and trial of the national hero.

Singh warned to initiate a movement against the pres-ent dispensation if the FIR was not withdrawn immedi-ately.

Singh said that there was a complete mis-match between BJP’s slogans and actions. He said that while the Army Chief deserved kudos for hon-ouring Gagoi, the BJP needed a countrywide condemnation for its deceptive slogans given only to hoodwink the gullible masses.

Flaying the central and state government for their appeasement policy on Kash-mir, Singh regretted that while the brave-hearts were being humiliated, humbled and harassed, the separatists

and anti-nationals were being pampered and placated.

The separatists and anti-nationals enjoy all hospital-ity of government ranging from free fuel, government vehicles and accommodation besides ‘z” plus security thus assuring them VVIP treat-ment for their anti-national conduct.

Cautioning the BJP part-nered government to stop promoting the agenda of sepa-ratists for power sake, Singh warned to launch a massive agitation in Jammu in case the FIR against Major Gagoi was not withdrawn.

Parshotam Parihar, state secretary, Panthers Trade Union, and Mushtaq Ahmed, youth leader were also present during the press conference.
