project brief:design a future “cult” object

solution:the sa 45 is a device used to convert either wateror smoke into breathable air to the consumer.

currently in 2 variations, 1 used for underwater breathing, the other for sasafe breathing in un-safe enviroments.

the rst uses a conceptual catalyst to remove hydrogen from water to leave pure oxygen, and the second lters any impurities from the surrounding air

Page 3: Harry Hextall Portfolio

challenges: multiple concept generation, progress of ideas, color experimentation, camera angles.

Page 4: Harry Hextall Portfolio

challenges:design for interchangeability, camera angles, detailing

Page 5: Harry Hextall Portfolio

challenges:interchangeable parts, reections, enviroment lighting, multiple components, color theme, material selection, attention to detail

project brief:

“design a shampoo dispensing unit/bottle.”

solution:

the nal idea is a striking shampoo bottle with a different shape.

the shape incorporated what seems like 3 different parts of differentsizes, and with the widely used bottle cap design, the product would

appeal appeal to a large market

different editions of the bottle could be released by the companyby changine the design of the pattern and colors on the bottle.

challenges:design to scale, working parts, material selection, hidden internal designing, post-processing, concept idea presentation

project brief:design a display to house the IED’s Royal Charter

solution:the product displayed on the following sheet is a personal development of an idea far beyond the project brief

the following design is a “tent” that housed a stand, the stand that was the solution solution to the project breif, however, the processes used to create the design shown here was far longer and more detailed than the project solution

challenges:color temperature, surface modelling, shadows, post-processing, material selection and modication, texture mapping, luminosity, lighting

Page 10: Harry Hextall Portfolio

challenges:surface material transparency, camera angles, lighting exclusion and shadowscamera lens adjustment, eld of view and depth of eld

Page 11: Harry Hextall Portfolio

challenges:creating lit area outside the model, surface material transparency and mapping

Page 12: Harry Hextall Portfolio

project brief:redesign an existing product with the aim to improve its enviromental impact

solution:the solution to this project was a coke bottle redesign made from biodegradable

plastic.

i have proposed various limited editions and versions for the companytto consider.

challenges:bottle transparency, environment reections,

camera angles, post-processing

Page 14: Harry Hextall Portfolio

challenges:ambient lighting reduction, diffusion, glow effect, bloom, haze, radiation, luminosity

Page 15: Harry Hextall Portfolio

challenges:material replication, diffusion, color contrasting

Page 16: Harry Hextall Portfolio

project brief:design a product to t into a 100mm x 100mm cube that utilizes 3d printing

solution:the solution was a maze 3d maze made by 3d printing.

the design uses 3d printing technology to its advantage by placing the moving ballwithin the enclosing maze, therefore not allowing the ball to be lost.

The Flex Light.

The Flex light was inspired by nature. Specically bull horns and vines.

The bull horns have inspired the symmetrical and rigid look to the design whereas the vines have inspired the curled and almost wrapped effect created by the shape of the design.

This design was intended to be sold in pairs and be placed at either end of a meeting table, dining table or any table of that matter, they can also be mounted on walls to breate ambient lighting in a room

challenges:shape manipulation, ambient lighting, caustics, bloom, reectionscamera angles, lens correcting
