DESCRIPTION

We have been concerned with the principles of reasoning, where reasoning is conceived as reasoned revision. Reasoning in this sense must not be confused with proof or argument, and the theory of reasoning must not be confused with logic. Psychological relations of immediate implication and immediate inconsistency are important in reasoning, but this is not to say that logical implication and logical inconsistency are of any special relevance.
