Your Education
• The Canadian Forces Co-op will allow you to earn 4 Credits
- 2 Cooperative education credits for your military training
- 1 Healthy Active Living Credit
AND
1 Senior English Credit
Get Paid
• You have the chance to MAKE money while going to school. During your placement with the army, you earn approximately $212.00$212.00 per week for going to co-op!
Certified
• Through your Co-op placement with the Army, you could earn your Basic Military Qualification (B.M.Q.) followed by your Basic Military Qualification: Land (B.M.Q.: Land)
• Both of these qualifications are highly valued if you are thinking of applying for the Police or the Fire Fighting Services.
Job Opportunity
• Once you have finished the Basic Military Qualification: Land course, you have the chance to stay on with your unit as a reservist, where you can earn the bulk of the year’s pay – the summer unit training season.

How to Sign-Up Part 1
• Visit your Student Services/Guidance Office.- Request an application for the SOUTHSOUTH Halton
Canadian Forces Co-op Program and send it with your transcript to Joan Powell at the Halton Industry Education Council
- The Unit will try to contact you TWICETWICE, then you MUSTMUST follow-up (Call them)
How to Sign-Up Part 2
• You can also visit the School to Career website and download an application for the Canadian Forces Co-op for SOUTHSOUTH Halton to begin the process yourself. (Guidance will have to send in this form with your transcript)

What you Need to Have to Qualify
• You must be a minimum of 16 years of age (Birth Certificate to prove)
• You must be a Canadian Citizen• You must have completed15 high
school credits to be interviewed (end of grade 10 for most students)
• Social Insurance Number & Bank Account for payments
What Tests/Processes you will Need to Complete
• The application process can take 6 – 8 weeks to complete so start soon!
You will need to write the Canadian Forces Aptitude Test – without the aid of a calculator
You will undergo a medical exam You will have an interview with your
selected unitYou will need to complete ALLALL the
paperwork (Listed on the following slide)
