Welcome to this demo version of Garritan Orchestral Strings HALion 3 version. The Garritan Orchestral Strings library has become the new standard in sample libraries and now these “HALion 3” patches are yours to enjoy. These patches are fully usable and represent a small fraction of the full Orchestral Strings library the will be available for HALion 3. The following list presents some of the outstanding features in demo version:
• The very finest classical stringed instruments were sampled including Stradivaris, Guarneri, Montagnana, Testore, Gaglianos, and many other exquisite Violins, Violas, Cellos, & Double Basses
• Distinguished world-class players • Recorded at Lincoln Center • 24 bit state-of-the-art digital recording for utmost accuracy and
audio fidelity to take advantage of the renown HALion sample engine.
• For this demo there are 4 string patches. Basic Sordino Long Bowings for the Violins and Violas patches, and Legato Long Bowings for the Celli and Double Bass patches. The full HALion version will have an exhaustive array of articulation, bowings and playing technique patches.
• One dynamic level sampled in this demo and for the full version there are up to four dynamic levels
• Full String section for this demo and the full version also has both 1st and 2nd Violin sections.
• Release triggers: When you take your finger off a note you will hear the ambience of the hall. Alternating notes using HALion 3’s new Alternation feature to avoid the “machine gun” effect. The full version will have automatic alternation of up and down bowings.
• Legato Feature: The mod wheel controls the starting point of the sample. In the down position you have the full attack. Push the mod wheel up to bypass the attack portion for a smoother and more connected transition.
• Timbre is controlled by note velocity in these demo patches. The full version will allow you to cross-fade between multi-dynamic samples.
