General Description
The Hawk HA series ultrasonic transmitter is available
in 5kHz, 10kHz, 15kHz, 20kHz and 30kHz models to
suit a wide variety of applications, environments andvessel sizes.
The instrument has a 4-20mA analog (ISOL) output, as
well as a Remote press to test failsafe feature for critical
level applications. Independent relays for level alarms
are also available.
The HA series, are available in an integral version, with
electronics and housing mounted directly onto the
transducer, or, as a remote transmitter version, for high
temperature applications.
Principal of Operation
The Hawk HS and HA ultrasonic systems emits an
ultrasonic pulse, that is reflected back from the product
being measured. The reflected signal or echo, is
processed using specially developed Hawk software to
enhance the correct echo and reject false or purious
echoes. The distance from the transducer to the product,
is calculated using the speed of sound through air and
the return time of the reflected echo from the product.
The measured distance is automatically temperaturecompensated to ensure maximum accuracy and is
compared to the programmed span (0-100%) and relay
set points for output status.
The analog output is 4-20mA and there are 2 relays on
the integral version, and 4 relays on the remote version.
