PARISH NEWS & EVENTS ANOINTING OF THE SICK — Fr Andrew anoints the sick & those preparing for sur-gery after the 11am Mass today, Sunday, February 16, in the chapel. All Catholics are entitled to this sacrament, especially in the last stages of life in preparation for death—viaticum or ‘last rites.’ Call the office for anointing at home, hospital or nursing home.

HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS — Two college scholarship application forms are available in the church office and on the HSCCW page of our parish website (for download & print). Submis-sion deadline for each application is Monday, March 16, 2020:

• Holy Spirit Council of Catholic Women - $750 and $500 scholarships • Southern Deanery Council of Catholic Women - $500 scholarship

ELIJAH CUP — Make a New Year’s resolution—sign-up for the Elijah Cup at least once this year. We pray daily for vocations with the Elijah Cup displayed prominently in a place of honor in your home. Signup binder is in the vestibule on the round table.

This week: Sunday, February 16, 8:30am — Anne Griffin Next week: Sunday, February 23, 11:00am — Karen & Bob Langgle

RUMMAGE SALE — Donation days and times to donate your unwanted & unused treasures for the Annual Rummage Sale are Wednesday & Thursday, February 19-20, 10am to 3pm at Emmaus Hall. This annual rummage sale is sponsored by Holy Spirit’s Council of Catholic Women (HSCCW). Rummage Sale dates are Friday & Saturday, February 21-22. (Proceeds from this event benefit HSCCW’s annual Scholarship program.)

ASH WEDNESDAY — Receiving ashes on the forehead is a visible symbol of penance as we begin the liturgical season of Lent on Wednesday, February 26; Mass times are 9am and 7pm. (Christians of other denominations, non-practicing Catholics and the ex-communicated are welcome to receive ashes, but only Catholics in a state of Grace may receive Holy Communion. Confession is available before Mass, 6:15pm to 6:50pm.)

SAVE THE DATE — Our Lenten Mission is Sunday—Thursday, March 8-12. For a fruit-ful Mission, we are asked to pray the rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, novenas, litanies and to fast. Our prayers have a direct correlation in the buildup of the parish & the sal-vation of souls. The better our prayer preparation, the greater God’s mercy! Evening sessions begin at 7pm; morning sessions at 9am (daily Mass + mission).
