Full-anIine leather, which is the hide’s most organic state, will always reveal heavyscarring and blemishes. In areas of frequent use, such as the seat and arm, the naturaloils will move around to cause a lightening in colour. This is the natural progressionof hand-coloured leather and in no way should be considered a fl aw.
Intense workmanship and attention to detail are the hallmarks of ourHeirloom collection. In particular, the colouring of leather by hand involves exceptional skill and is undertaken only by a handful of highly skilled antiquers.
The dyes are mixed and gently massaged into the leather which is then allowed to dry. This process is repeated at least six times to ensure a beautifully-toned patina and an authentic antiqued appearance. As the dyes are absorbed in varying intensities on different areas of the skin, the original hallmarks of the hide ensure that every piece is completely unique and distinctive.
The result is an object of valued possession to be passed down generations;a genuine article worthy enough to be called an Heirloom.
