Guru Yoga Retreat: The Sadhana of Jetsun Milarepa Offered by Lama Karma & Lama Samten June 27–29, 2012 Milarepa Dzong Happy Valley, Tennessee For this retreat, the lamas will lead participants in the devotional practice of Milarepa. They will provide commentary from Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche and Lama Norlha Rinpoche. PLEASE NOTE: This retreat is open to students who have at least one Vajrayana empowerment and who have completed or are in the process of completing ngondro. MILAREPA ÖSEL CHÖ DZONG Under the Guidance of Ven. Lama Norlha Rinpoche The retreat will involve alternating sessions of meditation and teaching on the theory and practice of guru yoga, offering of the tsok (tantric feast), as well as instruction on how to prepare the shrine and the offerings. Participants are encouraged to bring bell, dorje, damaru, and kapala if they own these. The weekend will conclude with the offering of the extended fire puja. Tsok and fire puja offerings will be covered through the retreat fees, your own personal contributions are welcome. You are welcome to use this form to become a member at this time, if you wish. MEALS A simple breakfast and lunch will be provided on Saturday and Sunday of the retreat. Leftovers will be served at dinner. All meals are group clean-up which commences 25 minutes following the meal prayer. Please indicate on the registration form if you have any dietary restrictions or concerns. FACILITIES There is currently limited space available in the Tashi Kong (guest house). It will be assumed you are bringing your own equipment and camping unless you specifically request a dorm bed (see registration form. A composting outhouse, and a private outdoor (hot water) shower are available. WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING/WEAR Cushion, a water bottle or thermos, lawn chair or mat for sitting on the ground, flashlight, insect repellent, and towel. Snacks and cooler with ice if desired. Food for Friday evening meal. This is a rural retreat, so casual, comfortable clothes are recommended. Nights can be cool, days hot. Rain gear and hand fan recommended.
