Una visita a Lugano non si può de-finire tale se non ci si spinge fino al romantico e pittoresco borgo di Gandria. In questa località magica dall’incommensurabile fascino si potrà fare un tuffo nel passato, sco-prire la vita “di una volta” e imma-ginarsi nella quotidianità dei pesca-tori e degli abitanti del lago. Con la guida si camminerà fino a Gandria e mentre voi potrete perdervi su e giù nelle viuzze del villaggio un bat-tello vi attenderà per il rientro.

A visit to Lugano may not be de-fined as such if you don’t include Gandria, a romantic and pictur-esque hamlet. Il golfo di Lugano è reso speciale dai due monti che ne delimitano i confini: il Monte Brè e il Monte San Salvatore. Quest’ultimo, la cui for-ma ricorda il più famoso Pão de Açúcar, ha conferito alla città il so-prannome “Piccola Rio”. Si inizierà dal lungolago, dove si scopriranno le classiche tappe culturali e arti-stiche come il LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura e la Chiesa di Santa Maria Degli Angeli e poi, con la salita in funicolare, si raggiungerà la vet-ta panoramica che offre una vista davvero mozzafiato.

Das Besondere an der Bucht von Lu-gano sind unter anderem die beiden Berge, die sie einrahmen: der Monte Brè und der Monte San Salvatore. Letzterer erinnert in seiner Form an den berühmten Pão de Açúcar, wes-halb Lugano manchmanl auch „klein Rio“ genannt wird. Die Tour beginnt mit einem Spaziergang entlang der Seepromenade, vorbei an den klassi-schen, kulturellen und künstlerischen Etappen wie das LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura und der Kirche Santa Maria degli Angeli, bis zur Standseilbahn, die Sie zum Gipfel des San Salvatore führt, von wo man eine atemberau-bende Aussicht geniessen kann.

Le golfe de Lugano se distingue par les deux monts qui en délimitent les contours : le Monte Brè et le Monte San Salvatore. Ce dernier, dont la forme rappelle le célèbre Pão de Açúcar, est à l’origine du surnom de « Petite Rio » fréquemment don-né à la ville. Le départ s’effectue depuis les rives citadines du lac, avec des étapes culturelles et ar-tistiques telles que le centre LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura et l’Église de Santa Maria Degli Angeli, puis elle se poursuit en funiculaire pour at-teindre le sommet panoramique du mont et sa vue enchanteresse.

The gulf of Lugano is made spe-cial by two mountains that mark its boundaries: Monte Brè and Monte San Salvatore. The latter, whose shape recalls that of the more fa-mous Pão de Açúcar, has con-ferred the nickname of “Little Rio” to Lugano. The excursion starts on the lakeshore, where you can take a look at some cultural and artis-tic sites such as the LAC Lugano Arte Cultura and the Santa Maria Degli Angeli Church and then af-ter reaching the top with the cable car you will be able to enjoy a truly breath-taking view.

La tradizione architettonica ticine-se affonda le proprie radici a prima dell’anno mille: è questo il territorio che diede i natali ai maestri comaci-ni, intelvesi e campionesi. Una tra-dizione che si è rinnovata nei secoli: questa passeggiata vi offre l’oppor-tunità di scoprire alcuni tra gli edifici più rappresentativi edificati tra il XX e il XXI secolo sulle rive del Ceresio. Da Chiattone a Vacchini, da Tami a Botta fino al Campus USI, il tour vi regalerà una Lugano inconsueta, da ammirare con occhi diversi.

Die Geschichte der Tessiner Ar-chitektur hat ihre Wurzeln mit den Maestri Comacini, Intelvesi und Campionesi im Mittelalter; eine Kultur, die sich über die Jahrhun-derte erneuert hat. Diese Exkursion bietet die Gelegenheit, einige der wichtigsten Bauten des 20. und 21. Jahrhunderts am Luganersee von Chiattone zu Vacchini, von Tami zu Botta bis zum Campus der USI kennenzulernen. Sie werden die Stadt einmal mit anderen Augen sehen und sicher ein unbekanntes Lugano entdecken.

La tradition de l’architecture tes-sinoise remonte à avant l’an mille: c’est dans cette région que sont nés les maestri comacini, intel-vesi et campionesi. Une tradition qui s’est renouvelée à travers les siècles. Cette promenade vous donne la possibilité de découvrir les bâtiments les plus significatifs construits au 20ème et au 21ème siècle sur les rives du lac Ceresio. De Chiattone à Vacchini, de Tami à Botta jusqu’au Campus de l’uni-versité USI, le tour va vous montrer une ville de Lugano inhabituelle, à admirer avec un regard différent.

The Ticino architectural tradition has its roots before the year 1000: the “maestri comacini, intelve-si and campionesi” were born in this region. This tradition was re-newed over the centuries. Our walk through Lugano gives you the op-portunity to discover some of the most interesting buildings built on the shores of Lake Lugano in the 20th and 21st century. From Chiat-tone to Vacchini, from Tami to Bot-ta, to the local university (USI) Cam-pus, our tour will show you a new Lugano: you’ll be able to admire it from a different perspective.

Dal cuore della città raggiungerete in battello il porticciolo di Cassarate giusto in tempo per prendere la fu-nicolare, godere del colpo d’occhio sul centro urbano che pian piano si allarga sotto di voi per raggiungere la vetta più incontaminata di Luga-no. Ammirerete lo splendido pano-rama che nelle giornate più limpide abbraccia anche il massiccio del Monte Rosa. Passeggerete per il piccolo borgo di Brè dove la vita è scandita da un ritmo che profuma di passato grazie alle tipiche abita-zioni ticinesi, alla chiesa e alle opere artistiche.

Vom Zentrum der Stadt bringt Sie unser Schiff in den kleinen Hafen von Cassarate, wo Sie in wenigen Schritten die Standseilbahn zum Monte Brè erreichen. Während der Bergfahrt können Sie den Blick über die Stadt geniessen, der sich langsam vor Ihren Augen ausbrei-tet. An klaren Tagen sieht man so-gar bis zum Monte Rosa. Sie spa-zieren in der reinen Bergluft bis in das kleine Dorf Brè und flanieren durch die malerischen Gässchen, vorbei an alten Tessiner Häusern, an der kleinen Kirche und an inte-ressanten Kunstwerken.

Depuis le cœur de la ville, vous irez au petit port de Cassarate en ba-teau, juste à temps pour prendre le funiculaire et apercevoir la ville qui s’éloigne doucement au-des-sous de vous. Vous irez admirer le splendide panorama qui va jusqu’à embrasser, lorsque le ciel est par-ticulièrement limpide, le massif du Monte Rosa. Une fois arrivés au sommet le plus intact de Lugano, vous allez vous promener à travers le petit village de Brè, qui vit à un rythme empreint de passé grâce à ses maisons typiquement tessi-noises, son église et ses œuvres d’art.

From the city’s heart, you will reach the little harbour of Cassarate by boat, just in time to take the funic-ular, enjoy the splendid view of the city centre, gradually expanding at your feet as you reach Lugano’s most uncontaminated summit. You will also get the chance to admire the fantastic view, which, on clear days, stretches all the way to Mount Rosa. You will take a stroll through the small village of Brè, where life runs at a slow pace as in the past, taking a look at the typical Ticinese houses, the church and the works of art.

Il 2017 vede un’intensa offerta espo-sitiva. Ad aprire l’anno è l’omaggio a una delle artiste più note del Nove-cento, Meret Oppenheim; seguono la mostra Craigie Horsfield. Of the Deep Present, in collaborazione con il Centraal Museum di Utrecht, e l’esposizione dedicata all’arte italiana con Alighiero Boetti e Sal-vo. Nella seconda metà dell’anno si tengono una mostra monogra-fica realizzata assieme all’artista Wolfgang Laib e una sull’influenza dell’India sulla cultura e sull’arte oc-cidentale.

2017 bietet ein intensives Ausstel-lungsjahr an. Den Anfang macht eine Hommage an eine der bekanntesten Künstlerinnen des zwanzigsten Jahr-hunderts, Meret Oppenheim, gefolgt von der Ausstellung Craigie Horsfield. Of the Deep Present, in Zusammen-arbeit mit dem Centraal Museum in Utrecht, und von einer Ausstellung, die der italienischen Kunst mit Alighi-ero Boetti und Salvo gewidmet ist. In der zweiten Jahreshälfte wird eine monografische Ausstellung gezeigt, die zusammen mit dem Künstler Wolfgang Laib geschaffen wurde, sowie eine über den Einfluss Indiens auf die westliche Kultur und Kunst.

Le 2017 offre de nombreuses oc-casions de visite. L’exposition d’ou-verture de cette nouvelle année est un hommage à l’une des artistes les plus célèbres du XXe siècle, Meret Oppenheim. Il en suit l’exposition de Craigie Horsfield - Of the Deep Present - en collaboration avec le Centraal Museum de Utrecht et une autre consacrée à Art italien, avec les artistes Alighiero Boetti et Salvo. Au deuxième semestre, il se tiendra une monographique réalisée avec l’artiste Wolfgang Laib et une expo-sition sur l’influence de l’Inde dans la culture et l’Art occidental.

2017 has an abundance of exhibi-tions on offer. Opening the year is a homage to one of the twentieth century’s best known artists, Meret Oppenheim; this will be followed by the exhibition: Craigie Horsfield. Of the Deep Present in collabora-tion with the Centraal Museum of Utrecht, and the exhibition devoted to Italian art with Alighiero Boetti and Salvo. The second half of the year will feature a solo exhibition arranged together with the artist Wolfgand Laib and one on the in-fluence of India on western art and culture.

Torino 1966-1973In concomitanza con l’esposizione “Boetti–Salvo” al MASI Lugano, viene presentato un allestimento volto a documentare il clima arti-stico torinese tra gli anni ‘60 e ‘70. Opere scelte, riconducibili al grup-po dell’Arte povera, testimoniano gli esiti più significativi di quel mo-mento nonché il vivace clima intel-lettuale venutosi a creare a Torino.

Torino 1966-1973Gleichzeitig mit der Ausstellung “Boetti-Salvo” im MASI Lugano wird eine Ausstellung präsentiert, die das künstlerische Klima im Turin der Sechziger- und Siebzigerjahre dokumentiert. Ausgewählte Werke aus der Umgebung der Arte Povera zeigen die bedeutendsten Ergeb-nisse dieser Bewegung und das lebhafte intellektuelle Klima, das sich in Turin gebildet hatte.

Oeuvres choisies, attribuées au groupe de l‘Art Pauvre, témoignent des résul-tats les plus significatifs de cette période et du climat intellectuel vif qui régnait à Turin.

Torino 1966-1973At the same time as “Boetti – Salvo” at MASI Lugano, it is presented an exhibition documenting the artistic climate in Turin between the 1960s and the ‘70s. Selected works by members of the Arte Povera group, bear witness to the most significant results of that period in time, as well as of the remarkably lively intellec-tual atmosphere in Turin.

I partecipanti potranno vedere sotto un nuovo punto di vi-sta la storia, la cultura e gli artisti di Carona. Il giro turistico include an-che la visita alle chiese di Carona. Alla fine della visita del villaggio è possibile opzionalmente proseguire con la visita guidata del Parco San Grato.

Auf einem einstündigen Rundgang entdecken Sie das typische Tessi-nerdorf Carona. Diese Führung gibt Ihnen Einblick in die Geschichte und Kultur von Carona und seinen Künstlern. Der Rundgang schliesst auch den Besuch der Kirchen von Carona ein. Anschliessend an die Dorfbesichtigung können Sie mit der Führung im Parco San Grato fortfahren.

Une visite guidée à pied pour dé-couvrir des lieux, parmi les plus beaux de la ville, liés à l’histoire du tourisme local qui, après l’inaugu-ration du Gotthardbahn (chemin de fer du Gothard), s’est dévelop-pé de manière nette et définitive et a marqué le début du mythe de la « Sonnenstube ». Un parcours visuel qui puise dans les témoi-gnages artistiques et graphiques de la « Belle époque » insouciante quand les premières affiches publi-citaires, aux couleurs chaudes et attirantes, parlaient de « Lugano, la Riviera de la Suisse ».

This guided visit on foot inter-weaves many of the city’s most charming places with the history of local tourism; the latter, in fact, after the inauguration of the Gotthard-bahn (the Gotthard railway) affirmed itself more and more so and gave rise to the myth of the “Sonnen-stube”. A visual itinerary, which re-fers to artistic and graphic tokens of the light-heartedness of the “Belle époque”, when the first publicity posters with their warm and inviting colours started speaking of “Luga-no, the Swiss Riviera”.

Una visita guidata a piedi, che intreccia molti fra i luoghi più in-cantevoli della città con la storia del turismo locale che, dopo l’i-naugurazione della Gotthardbahn (ferrovia del Gottardo), si profilò in maniera netta e definitiva e diede inizio al mito della “Sonnenstube”. Un percorso visivo che si rifà alle testimonianze artistiche e grafiche della spensieratezza della “Belle époque”, quando i primi manife-sti pubblicitari, dai colori caldi ed invitanti, parlavano di “Lugano, la Riviera della Svizzera”.

Dieser geführte Rundgang durch die Stadt verknüpft einige ihrer bezauberndsten Winkel mit der Geschichte des Lokaltourismus, der mit der Eröffnung der Gotthard-bahn rasch und deutlich zunahm und bald den Mythos der „Sonnen-stube“ prägte. Diese visuelle Tour weckt Erinnerung an die künstle-rischen und grafischen Zeugnisse der unbeschwerten „Belle époque“ zurück, als die ersten Werbepla-kate mit warmen und einladenden Farben Lugano als „die Schweizer Riviera“ anpriesen.

A wonderful tour of the city on board of one of the friendly tourist trains “The Red Arrow” travelling along the lake gulf, will allow you to discover the beauties of the city, together with its surround-ings, including the Monte Brè and the Monte S. In occasione dell’apertura del Mu-seo, il Comune di Montagnola ha allestito una passeggiata, con undici postazioni, che conduce il visitatore, attraverso le case dove visse Hesse, ai suoi luoghi preferiti e più significativi e al cimitero dove è stato sepolto. Delle audioguide in italiano e in tedesco accompagna-no il visitatore attraverso il paesag-gio della Collina d’Oro sulle orme di Hermann Hesse e lo aiutano a scoprirne le bellezze artistiche e le risorse turistiche. La versione ita-liana comprende alcune parti dello sceneggiato radiofonico “Il signor Hesse”.

Zur Eröffnung des Museums rich-tete die Gemeinde Montagnola einen Wanderweg ein, der zu den Wohnhäusern Hesses, zu seinen Lieblingsplätzen und schliesslich zu seiner Grabstelle führt. Audio-guides stehen zur Verfügung, die in deutscher und italienischer Spra-che auf den Spuren Hermann Hes-ses durch die Landschaft führen und die Schönheit der Kunstwerke sowie die touristischen Angebote der Collina d’Oro thematisieren.

À l’occasion de l’ouverture du Mu-sée, la commune de Montagnola a aménagé un sentier avec onze emplacements, qui conduit le vi-siteur vers les maisons où vécut H. Hesse, ses lieux préférés et les plus significatifs, jusqu’au cimetière où il est enterré. Des guides audio en italien et en allemand accom-pagnent les visiteurs à travers les paysages de la Collina d’Oro sur les traces de Hermann Hesse et les aident à découvrir les beautés artistiques et les ressources touris-tiques.

On the occasion of the opening of the Museum, the Town Council of Collina d’Oro set up a footpath which takes to Hesse’s favour-ite places, passing by the houses where he lived, and ending to the cemetery where he is buried. Audio guides in German and Italian are available for the walking tour which follows the tracks of Hermann Hes-se throughout the landscape of Collina d’Oro. Audio guides also provide information on all the ar-tistic attractions and other tourist spots.

Un emozionante viaggio nel tem-po e nello spazio, dove passato e presente, storia e natura si fondono armoniosamente. Il percorso attra-versa dapprima i ripiani dei giardini mediterranei in stile rinascimentale e barocco, ricchi di statue; poi pro-segue in boschetti di bambù nel paesaggio orientale, che sorpren-de per le sue costruzioni siamesi, arabe ed indiane, accompagnate dalla flora che caratterizza queste regioni.

Un voyage émouvant dans le temps et l’espace, où passé et pré-sent, histoire et nature, se mêlent harmonieusement. Le parcours traverse tout d’abord les terrasses des jardins méditerranéens de style Renaissance et Baroque, enrichies de statues. Il se poursuit à travers des haies de bambous dans le paysage oriental, très surprenant en raison de la présence d’édifices thaïlandais, arabes et indiens, en-tourés de la flore caractéristique de ces régions.

An extraordinary trip through time and space, where past and pres-ent, history and nature co-exist in perfect harmony. The route firstly goes through Mediterranean gar-den terracing in the Renaissance and baroque styles, with an abun-dance of statues. It then continues through bamboo groves in the Oriental landscape which is quite astonishing due to the presence of Siamese, Arab and Indian con-structions, together with the flora typifying these regions.

Sessa, autrefois chef-lieu du Mal-cantone, est aujourd’hui un village d’environ 650 habitants, adossé aux pentes au pied du Mont Lema et qui descendent vers la rivière Tresa. Chaque mardi à partir de fin mars à fin octobre, visite guidée gratuite du village de Sessa. Offres dévolues au Piccolo museo di Ses-sa e Monteggio.

Sessa, once the most important municipality of Malcantone, is today a village of 650 inhabitants on the slope of a hill at the foot of Mount Lema, which gently rolls down to the Tresa river. Every Tuesday from the end of March to the end of Oc-tober: free guided excursion of the village Sessa. Donations given to the Piccolo museo di Sessa e Mon-teggio.

Sessa, già capoluogo del Malcan-tone, è oggi un villaggio di circa 650 abitanti, adagiato a ridosso delle colline sottostanti il Monte Lema e che digradano verso il fiume Tresa. Ogni martedì, da fine marzo a fine ottobre, visita guidata gratuita del paese di Sessa. Offerte devolute al Piccolo museo di Sessa e Mon-teggio.

Sessa war einst Hauptort des Mal-cantone. Heute leben rund 650 Menschen in diesem Dorf, das auf einem Hügel am Fusse des Mon-te Lema liegt. Von Ende März bis Ende Oktober wird jeden Dienstag eine kostenlose Führung des Dor-fes Sessa angeboten. Spenden zu Gunsten vom „Piccolo museo di Sessa e Monteggio“ werden gerne entgegengenommen.

Lugano SUP, the unique certified SUP centers of Lugano lake, will give you the full access to equip-ments and knowledges to get into this safe, entertaining and relaxing water activity. On this guided tour first you will have the 30 minutes basic skills lesson then you will discover some of Lugano’s histo-ry-steeped places of interest from along its waterways. – standing on a paddling board. Participants are introduced to stand-up paddling and at the same time learn all kinds of interesting historical facts about the city of Lugano.

Et au moment même où vous pensez que rien ne pour-rait être mieux, il est temps pour le petit déjeuner et un plongeon dans l’eau rafraîchissante. Existe-t-il une meilleure façon de commencer le week-end ?!

The wooden platform floating on the lake gets lathered with colourful mats. The free yoga class, offered by the city and led by the fantastic teachers of Yoga Roof is about to begin. Bodies move in quiet uni-son, eyes meet the beautiful view, smiles greet the sun, minds let go in relaxation.
