Location & History • Despite the fact that it is located very close to both the M4 and M40, it is a

picturesque and rural town.

• It sits upon the bank of the river Thames and is famous for its suspension bridge, which was built between 1829 – 1832.

• Monastic foundations ringed the town in the 11th century, and the remains of a 12th century chapel and crypt still exist.

• The Old Parsonage & Deanery dates from the 14th century and is thought to be one of the finest houses of its time in Buckinghamshire.

• Marlow Place was part of the Royal Military College before it moved to Sandhurst in 1812.

Things to do in Marlow • Just a short hop from your Marlow hotel, you can take a stroll by the river

Thames, through Higginson Park and take a look at the yachts moored up.

• You can also wander across the suspension bridge, perhaps take a photo or two and watch the world go by.

• Marlow is a town that hasn’t changed much over the years, although there are a few more coffee shops than there used to be.
