Disarmament committeeIn the disarmament committee, the debate was extremely exciting and full of enthusiasm. Delegates representing countries with contrasting policies have arose to defend their interests. On both issues on the agenda; namely, Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) for Child Soldiers and effective international arrangements to assure non-nuclear-weapon States against the use or threat of use of nuclear weapons, many clauses which have effect on world peace and the lives of millions of civilians were submitted, many interesting questions were asked, and defensive speeches were delivered. Punishments in the Disarmament Committee were particularly special, delegates sang, danced, and even acted the Titanic scene!

United States Agency for International Development (USAID) / West Bank and Gaza Mission, and Deputy Director for the Office of Human Capital and Social Impact. Mr. Kort presentation was very interactive; he addressed the role of computers and artificial intelligence in our lives today, their effects on our brains, and on employment. He has also noted the importance of critical thinking for us, young students, and the most important competences and skills young students should have in order to be competitive in the modern world.

Political CommitteeIn the Political committee, delegates were very encouraged to participate. Delegates have not hesitated to raise their placards, take the floor, and clearly present their countries’ points of view. Many good clauses on the issue of strengthening of security and cooperation in the Mediterranean region which is affecting the lives of many delegates who live in the heart of the Middle East were debated. Delegates have also shown a great interest in discussing the second issue which is “Promoting just and inclusive societies”

Human Rights CommitteeDelegates in the Human Rights Committee were very involved in the discussion of the first issue they have on the agenda, “Protection of children from cyber crime”, which greatly concerns us, young people, nowadays. After delivering their opening speeches, lobbying time started. Delegates were constantly moving around the committee, asking their fellow delegates for signatories and criticism. Afterwards, the debate over clauses started. Placards were continuously flying promising a purposeful question, a good amendment, or a defensive

speech. The debate on the second issue on the agenda “Empowering women and girls as a tool for sustainable development” was equally fruitful.

Environment CommitteeOur planet is being taken for granted by young generations nowadays. However, delegates in the Environment Committee have shown the exact opposite. Delegates were very active after lobbying time asking a lot of questions and delivering amazing speeches on the first issue “Ensuring water and sanitation for all”, they have shown interest in environmental issues affecting the planet, and debated the second issue on the agenda “management of radioactive waste” in the afternoon.

Special Conference on SDGsDelegates of the Special Conference were particularly extremely active and always willing to participate. The issues they have on the agenda have drawn their attention to the importance of these issues making them more involved in the debate. The delegates debated the issue of “Eradicating hunger and preventing malnutrition” and “Ensuring inclusive and quality education for all and promoting lifelong learning” suggesting solutions for both challenges.
