Since the coffee growers have a long history with the land, they are great partners in taking care of it and making sure that the best product is produced. Central to Genius’ business operations is an ethos of social responsibility by supporting the growers’ families with access to education and healthcare. TUE VIEN ORGANIC FARM BAC TOM The Tue Vien Farm produces a wide range of organically grown products from fruits and vegetables such as guavas and tomatoes, to honey, garlic, chilli and moringa. CPC is 100% farmers’ owned and consists of about 1,855 coffee growing households spread across 55 villages. In 2012, CPC exported 603 tons of green coffee. This, together with CPCs other achievements was reason enough for the Lao government to award the cooperative as the "Laos Best coffee exporter 2012" for best prices and best quality. The Bolaven Plateau is located in southern Laos and known for its cool climate and high-quality soil. This is why the Mon Ta Champa Lao Gardens were established in this location. A large portion of the land was planned to produce cold weather fruits and flowers using an agro-tourism angle to create awareness about how to appreciate agriculture better through offering a direct customer experience. Mr. Khamsone SOUVANNAKHILY, the owner of Mystic Mountain Coffee, grew fond of coffee plantations as a child in the Bolaven Plateau in southern Lao PDR. In 1993 he bought his first hectare of land and over the next several years, he would receive his tour guide license and work during the Laos tourism boom in 2005 – 2007. Since then, Mr. Khamsone had purchased 16 more hectares of land and in 2010 pursued his dream of starting a coffee plantation. Sinouk Coffee began as a coffee plantation in 1997 and has been successfully producing and trading green and roasted coffee beans within Lao PDR, ASEAN and the EU. As a result of its prolific coffee business, Mr Sinouk Sisombat, its owner and founder, decided to expand operations to include a resort and restaurant that exhibits Lao hospitality. The plantations with the resort are progressively becoming a tourist destination in Laos. Baca Villa started as a guesthouse and restaurant in Siem Reap in 2005.
