Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park is the world’s first national park, created by an act of Congress in 1872. The park contains the largest concentration of geo-thermal features in the world, as well as the largest Bison and Elk herds in the world.

Page 17: GSA Training Conference and Expo 2010 Improving Green Operations - Using BioPreferred to Serve and Clean Green Ed Hogberg Energy and Environmental Manager,

The park is surrounded by six national forests. This 18 million-acre land mass is the last intact ecosystem left in the world.

Page 18: GSA Training Conference and Expo 2010 Improving Green Operations - Using BioPreferred to Serve and Clean Green Ed Hogberg Energy and Environmental Manager,

Yellowstone experiences over 3 million visitors annually. This equates to over one million vehicles entering into the park every year.

Page 19: GSA Training Conference and Expo 2010 Improving Green Operations - Using BioPreferred to Serve and Clean Green Ed Hogberg Energy and Environmental Manager,

Yellowstone experiences over 2,000 earthquakes every year.

Uniqueness of the park:
