We delivered over $5.4 million in grants in the areas of technology, patient care, facilities

upgrades, research and education.

In 2018, our inaugural Hospital Gala set a Healthcare Foundation record by raising

over $1 million in a single event.

We launched an exciting new brand campaign that better aligns us with our mission of

helping Sarasota Memorial provide world-class healthcare to our community.

K E Y T O T H E C U R E October 2017 Ten cancer survivors, all treated at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, stood as a living testament to the power of the cancer treatment at Sarasota Memorial Health Care System. The Saks Fifth Avenue event raised more than $210,000 to advance research for Women’s Cancer Services at SMH.

This prestigious group currently has more than 600 members who are leaving their mark on the community by help-ing SMH improve patient care, educational programs and acquire state-of-the-art technology.

T H E I N A U G U R A L H O S P I T A L G A L A January 2018 Our first-ever gala was an overwhelming success, generating more than $1 million for the purchase of new emergency and trauma services equipment at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Held at the Ritz-Carlton Sarasota on January 13, 2018, this sold-out event hosted more than 670 people. Guests enjoyed dinner, a mission moment, a paddle raise and a musical performance by the talented Donny Most.

E P I C April 2018 Once again, our Employee Partners in Caring (EPIC) did an epic job of giving back to the hospital. We introduced an Ice Cream Social and hosted our popular Celebrity Bartending event, along with a silent auction to raise $113,000 over the eight-week campaign. Funds raised by EPIC are used for facility improvements, continuing education, equipment and technology upgrades and more.

T H E G O L F T O U R N A M E N T May 2018 Held at Laurel Oak Country Club, our all-day, two-course golf tournament drew 216 participants and raised $128,000. Funds raised by the tournament benefit the Physician Endowment Fund, which allows Sarasota Memorial Hospital staff to expand their professional education.

W O M E N & M E D I C I N E E D U C A T I O N A L L U N C H E O N March 2018 Leading neurosurgeons from Sarasota Memorial Health Care System Mauricio Concha, M.D., and Daniel Case, M.D., along with cardiologist “Chippy” Nalluri, M.D., gave moving presentations on advances in stroke care to an enthusiastic crowd. The luncheon raised $170,000 to benefit Comprehensive Stroke Care at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
