Group Project
Issues and Problems in your Community or at Denton High School
Requirements
• Each of the Group Problem Solving Process steps must be addressed and have at least one slide.– Define the Problem– Establish Criteria for a Workable Solution (Min of 3)– Analyze the Problem – Suggest Possible Solutions– Evaluate Each Solution and Select the Best One– Suggest Ways for Testing or Carrying Out the Solution
• Minimum of ten slides total, not including the title slide. Maximum of 20 Slides.
Requirements
• Need to have at least three pieces of information, data, statistics, etc…
• Must cite the source for your information.• The MAIN FOCUS of the presentation should be
the Solution and how we would implement it here in our community or Denton High School.
• We are not “Bashing” this community, school, teachers, etc... May not use names.
Select an Issue
• Parking• Cafeteria Food• Locker/Locker Room
Theft• Traffic on Fulton• Bullying• Grading (Policies,
Procedures, Teachers Entering Grades, etc…)
• Appearance of School• Bathroom Cleanliness• Drugs• Fighting• Skipping• Crowded
Hallways/Passing Periods• Campus Waste and
Recycling Issues
Select an Issue
• If your group would like to select another issue, present it to me and I will consider it.
• If it is not on the previous list, it must be approved by me.
Due at the End of Day 1
• Step 1- “Identify the Problem”– Your Groups Topic
• Step 2- “Establish Criteria for a Workable Solution”– Your Groups List of 3-5 Criteria
• Step 3: “Analyze the Problem”– Your groups plan for research, analyzing, surveys,
etc… Each Person must have a plan
Grading
• Content– In Depth Coverage of Topic (Details & Examples)– Minimum of THREE pieces of data and the source– At Least THREE Criteria for a Workable Solution– Knowledge of Subject/Topic– All Required Steps are Present

• Organization– Well Organized– Proper use of bulleted lists – Headings: Information properly grouped by
related material– Minimum of 10 Slides, Maximum of 20 (Not
including Title Slide)

convincing– Plan Implementation is realistic (to the best of
your knowledge)
