Taking place on Center Street on Friday nights in July, this series draws the community together to enjoy music, outdoor dining, children’s activities and more. Sidewalk Sales & Circus The end of July and start of August has marked the Annual Sidewalk Sales for years. This open-air market spans from lower Center Street around the corner to Merchants Row, drawing out sale tents and outdoor dining from businesses along the way. In 2012 the circus component was added to the Saturday and features circus performers, carnival rides and lots of kids’ games and activities. Local artists,

crafters, food vendors and live music from area musicians throughout the day make this a fun event for all. Back for another year is the Rutland Mini Makers Faire, where dozens of makers, crafters, inventors, and entrepreneurs will showcase their products and ideas. Summer 2016 dates: Friday, July 29, 9 AM-10 PM Saturday, July 30, 9 AM-3 PM Hops on Top: Craft & Micro Brew Festival The 1st Hops on Top took place in 2015 and was a successful fundraiser for downtown. Merchants Row This annual event is to promote the fight against heart disease and the importance of healthy living. Races include a Half Marathon, 10K Run, 10K Relay (All Divisions), 5K Run (Regional Championships), 5K Walk, Corporate Challenge Walk and the Kids' Downtown Mile.

The 19th Annual Kid's Downtown Mile Run is slated to be bigger than ever. This event has grown from 50 runners to 350+ in the past few years. Children from the Rutland County schools participate in this event along with young runners and walkers from Canada, and many states throughout the U.S. This is a fun run for children with the main purpose of promoting healthy hearts and bodies through youth fitness and run in conjunction with the Kids Run the Nation Program of RRCA. The event culminates on Merchants Row in downtown Rutland and includes an awards ceremony, pig roast, vendors and live entertainment. Details at www.crowleyroadrace.com.

The Castleton Summer Concert Series kicks off on Tuesday, June 14th with Satin & Steel at 7pm in the Castleton University Pavilion following the June Chamber Mixer being held at Castleton University. All concerts are at 7pm in the Castleton Pavilion. The remaining

Part 2of 5 Purpose of the Informal Resolution The purpose of an informal conference is to identify and discuss disputed issues in an attempt to resolve the dispute(s). It’s an opportunity for the parties to ensure they have complete information, clear up any misunderstandings or miscommunication involving factual issues and allow the parties to identify the specific evidence they are relying on to support their respective positions. Evidence may include, but is not limited to, specific medical records, a medical opinion, witness statements, and affidavits. Parties may also reference to specific laws, rules, or prior hearing decisions by the Commissioner or the Vermont Supreme Court that may be applicable and set precedent on the particular issues in dispute. This office does not request medical records

from medical providers or otherwise gather

Berkshire Bank, America’s Most Exciting Bank®, has announced that it will close all locations at noon on Tuesday, June 7th for their company-wide Xtraordinary Day, The Power of Giving Back. Xtraordinary Day is a day of employee volunteering

that has occurred in previous years, yet this year it will be on a larger scale, as it will be the first year that the Bank as a whole will participate in community service events from 1pm – 4pm. The day is set to focus on over 50 community projects, with over 1,100 employees, to make the greatest impact with this year’s effort. The previous year’s week of service marked the highest number of employee participants and the most projects undertaken during a single week in the company’s history. This year will focus less on the quantity of projects and more on higher employee participation while making a more significant contribution to each organization. The day’s projects will benefit nonprofit organizations and communities across Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut and Vermont

The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center invites youth (ages 13-18) from the Rutland area to participate in an exciting, collaborative project for two weeks this summer. Under the instruction of master sculptor Nora Valdez, participants will design and carve a stone bench, to be

installed in a Rutland area town. 2016 is the 8th year of the Stone Bench Project, scheduled for July 5-15. The functional public art sculptures created become a point of pride for their makers and the communities they are placed in. Teamwork, skills building and cultural/historical appreciation are among the benefits derived by participants. Students are selected through an application process. There is no charge for participation to students who are selected. Application deadline is June 10, 2016. The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center hosts sculptor Robert Haskell as Artist in Residence during June 2016. Haskell has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Sculpture from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia,

Pennsylvania and currently teaches in Bar Harbor, Maine. His multi-media works explore physical phenomena through sculpture.

Robert Haskell will be creating new work during his residency and will present his methods and aesthetic in an Artist’s Talk the evening of Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 7 PM. Free and open to the public, for more information: (802) 438-2097 or [email protected].

Wonderfeet Kids Museum is hosting their premiere Grown-Ups Playdate to benefit the Wonderfeet Kids’ Museum will take place on Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 7pm to 11pm hosted by Stonehedge Indoor Golf. This event is a 21+ party for all the grown-ups that just wanna play!

The cost for the event is $65 per person which includes participation in a variety of golf contests with prizes, demonstrations and instruction by PGA Pro Greg Nelson, shuffleboard and foosball round robin tournaments, buffet with ice cream sundae bar and raffle ticket for great golf related prizes. Mike, Moses and Kasey – a.k.a Acoustic Boogaloo will perform live music. Boston Beer Company will be on-site offering drink specials throughout the evening.
