You may be already aware of this fact – girls tend to loseYou may be already aware of this fact girls tend to loseinterest in math and science during middle school. Why? Is itthe stigma of being a “smart” girl? Is it because thesesubjects seem too difficult? Not that long ago (1992 in fact),j g g ( ),Barbie introduced a new talking doll whose first words were,“Math is hard!” It may be difficult to conceive that influencersare all around us, and especially all around children, that plantp y pseeds in our head. Sometimes, these seeds deter us from apotential idea, project or even future. And, sometimes, wecan be the ones that plant ideas to accomplish the exactopposite – to encourage versus discourage.

On November 20th, we plan to do exactly this by creating ad i i d h f i ione-day interactive event to demonstrate the fun in science,

math, engineering and technology.
