IMPACT OF GREEN INITIATIVES
11th MALAYSIA PLAN : GREEN TECHNOLOGY One of the main game changer pursued under the 11th Malaysia Plan is embarking on GREEN GROWTH To pursue green growth, the enabling environment will be strengthened — particularly in terms of policy and regulatory framework, human capital, GREEN TECHNOLOGY INVESTMENT, and financial instruments. Under this game changer, one of the focus area that the government is emphasis ing, is on adopt ing the SUSTAINABLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION (SCP) CONCEPT.

STRATEGY FOR SCP • Strategy 1: CreaJng green markets through Government green procurement, adop2on of green buildings criteria and strengthening green cer2fica2on;
• Strategy 2: Increasing share of renewables in energy mix by exploring new RE sources, enhancing capacity of RE personnel and implemen2ng net energy metering;
• St ra tegy 3 : Enhanc ing demand s ide management (DSM) by formula2ng a comprehensive DSM master plan and expanding DSM measures;

• Strategy 4: Encouraging low carbon mobility through u2lisa2on of energy efficient vehicles and public transporta2on; and
• Strategy 5: Managing waste holisJcally through beJer coordina2on, encouraging 3R and using waste as a resource for other industries.

CONCLUSION Green Growth; A Game Changer Under the RMK11 Focuses On SCP Concept To provide a Clear Way in the Next 5 years towards ut i l i s ing Green Te c h n o l o g y f o r S U S TA I N A B L E DEVELOPMENT.
