Grand Lake Estates - August 2015 1 Volume 1, Issue 2 August 2015 OFFICIAL NEWSLETTER OF THE GRAND LAKE ESTATES POA June Board Meeting Summaries - June 18, 2015/ June 23rd, 2015 • e board reviewed and approved minutes and accepted financials for May 2015 (visit GLE website for recent minutes and financials at www.glepoa.com - Documents - 2015 Minutes and Financials). • e board extensively reviewed Connie Lane drainage plans, bids, quotes and proposals on June 18th. e board discussed several limitations to some proposals, including the LDC gas line and water line buried in the draining areas which are limiting factors impacting cost and delaying the project. Suitable solutions were proposed and costs reviewed to minimize expense and address these limitations. For detailed information about the project please see a summary of the Homeowner Information Meeting of July 14th posted to the website at www.glepoa.com. • e board adopted on June 23rd a work-plan of three phases to be communicated fully at a homeowner informational meeting on Tuesday, July 14th. • Board voted to take out a maintenance contract with All-Gates to have more reliable and preventive gate services and see if this will keep gates working more consistently. Back gate repairs were quoted and Frazier Lawn Services will be asked to reimburse for this repair. • Board selected Spectrum Association Management to be GLE's new management company effective 8/1/2015 after interviewing 6 management companies. • Easement and replatting agreement withTodd Wilkinson to receive 45 foot greenbelt of Reserve 4B in exchange for a 30 foot driveway taken out of Reserve 3A was accepted. Provisions to replat both parcels as residential use were included to allow POA to redeem costs expended in purchasing the land the front gates occupy and to permanently cut off access to Honea Egypt through Construction Entrance on Reserve 4B. Attorney and survey work to complete replat within next 3 months to follow. • Board announced its intent to adopt a resolution in the next month prohibiting ATV/UTV usage on GLE streets. • Election of 2 board vacancies was announced for September annual News and Notes from the Board meeting and the Election Oversight Committee was formed, lead by Lonna Hord. • An update on Park improvements was given, with plans expressed to add fans, fencing, handicap access and bike racks when cost estimates are completed. • Several speakers/guests from the community expressed concerns and issues for the board's consideration in a question and answer session of approximately 35 minutes following agenda completion. Notes from the Board 2 BOARD POSITIONS OPEN FOR ELECTION: If you want to run for the board at the September Annual Meeting, please read the next article in this newsletter and submit your information no later than 8/28/2015 or be a "write-in" at the meeting. ELECTION OVERSIGHT VOLUNTEERS WANTED: Volunteers are being sought for helping with election activities. If you are interested, please contact Lonna Hord at [email protected] FENCING COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS WANTED: If you are interested in serving on a committee to identify and possibly help install fencing to prevent nuisance access into GLE, please contact Ray McCrea at [email protected]. YARD OF THE MONTH VOLUNTEERS WANTED: If you have an interest in gardening, yard work and an eye for beautiful yards, we have a place for you! e Yard of the Month Committee will meet once a month to drive the community and choose one yard for the award. Guidelines will be provided. It has been rumored that GLE is home to several Master Gardeners who would be welcome additions to this committee! Montgomery ISD New Schools

Aswe all know,Montgomery voters approved a $256.75millionbondforMontgomeryISDandmostofthebondmoneywillgotowardtheconstructionofthreenewfacilities:ahighschool,amiddleschoolandanelementaryschool.Theproposedlocationsforthenewschoolsareestimatedtobeabout8milesfromourneighborhood,GrandLakeEstates.

MontgomeryISDwillhavefewerschooltransitionsandgraderealignmentthroughoutthedistrict.ThenewhighschoolwillbebuiltatFM2854,northwestofRabonChapelRoadandwillhousegrades9-12.RenovationswillbemadetoMontgomeryJunior High School to serve grades 6-8. MontgomeryIntermediate School andMontgomeryMiddle School bothwillmake improvements to accommodate pre-kindergartenthroughfifth-gradestudents.Thenewmiddleschool(6-8)andnewelementaryschool(PK-5)willbebuiltatKeenanCutoffRoad.Consequently,allelementaryschoolsinthedistrictwilladdthe5thgradetotheircampuses.
