Brothers — Finally, Spring has sprung and we can put the shovels away. I hope you enjoyed the Easter Holidays with your
families and friends. The Easter Egg Hunt went well thanks to the efforts of Thaddeus Garofalo SK, Mike “The Bunny” Civello PGK and Ricky Rocha for the use of his “Bouncy Castle” which was a big hit with the kids. Let’s not forget the entertainment provided by “The Balloonatic” and the food prepared by Pattius. Big thanks to the Membership Committee for their work in The Gathering Space at St. Gregory the Great this weekend. We have a several prospective candidates and will be doing interviews as needed followed by a First Degree Exemplifi cation. Date and details to follow. Please keep in your prayers Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hugel and Police Offi cer Brian Moore of the 105th Precinct. May they rest in peace. In closing, St. Anne’s wishes a Happy Mother’s Day to all those special women in our lives.

The Annual Long Island Chapter Charity Drive is under way and our chairman, Leonard Autera DGK has sent out the Charity Drive chance books. This year’s drive will benefit “Mercy Home and Faith in the Future”. Please help us in this most worthy venture.
ANNUAL BLOOD DRIVESAVE THE DATE…JUNE 24TH, 2015 This is our Annual Blood Drive in Memory of Julien Collot and we have been advised that there is a serious need for blood at this time. It won’t hurt, and you may save someone’s life. COME ON DOWN Wednesday, JUNE 24TH from 3PM until 9PM. More details in the June issue of The Voice.
INSURANCE AGENT COLUMN: THINK YOU ARE TOO OLD FOR COVERAGE? MAYBE NOT! You are never too young or too old to consider purchasing life insurance. If you have a financial need for coverage, or will in the future, a permanent life insurance policy can be just the thing you need.
When you are young and presumably healthy, coverage will be very inexpensive when compared to purchasing the same policies when you are older.
If you put off purchasing coverage, or you realize that you may need additional insurance, the Order may still be able to help you, even if other companies cannot. In fact, in 2012, the issue age of our “permanent life” insurance products was extended to age 80, and in 2014, the issue age of our “term insurance” was extended to age 70. Naturally, your health, and whether or not you smoke, will be a taken into consideration, so underwriting standards for risk and age apply. But, the extensions are a great blessing for me—and it could be for you too. Now I can help members that I couldn’t help before. Are you or one of your brothers knights one of those members?

Your dues of $40.00 are due to the Council by 5/31/2015in order to maintain your status as a paid up member in good standing. You will not receive a notice in the mail. Consider this message as your bill or first notice. This saves us the cost and manpower involved in mass mailings. Failure to pay your dues by 5/31/2015 will result in a follow up second notice, “Knight Alert”, and finally the intent to suspend form. Please save us the time and money that these procedures generate by paying dues in a timely fashion. Checks should be made payable to St. Anne’s Council and mailed to Bro. Fred Forgione, Financial Secretary, at 87-52 251ST Street, Bellerose, NY, 11426. PLEASE, DO NOT SEND CASH. This notice is not applicable to HONORARY LIFE MEMBERS. Honorary Life Members are members who are 70 years of age and have 25 consecutive years of membership. They have a permanent card and do not pay dues. St. Anne’s family along with the German community and many other organizations in our area are saddened by the loss of Jerry Hugel his wife, Marie, and two other friends on April 9th, 2015. It was due to carbon monoxide poisoning. Our prayers go out to all of their families in this terrible time of stress.
