Alhambrabusiness

The Alhambra, which attract on 2013 about 2.315.017 tour-ist to the city, keeps our city flourishing. But, where are the whole tourist offer come from? We have gather all the in-formation about it and here is what we have found:

our main visitors are from France (120.645), Japan (100.680), EEUU (99.137) and UK (85.764) followed very close by Germany (84.511). Some interesting things about that result is that they search for tons of online information before they reach our magnificent city. The most used websites are the “Online Tourist Information Offic-es”, but they also look up into more “unofficial sites”, in which tripadvisor.com would be a perfect example. On the next page, we’re going to get deeper into those websites, because, in a spe-cific way, they are their first impression of our country and city, and depending on what they see there they will finally choose us or not.

+TouristpointsAs well as Granada has many “Visitor Centers”, 9 from the 21 offices are local, 1 is

regional, 1 belongs to the “Junta de Andalucía” and 2 to the “Patronato”. Depending on which authority control the office, they have different objectives:

Useful information about it:

Phone:: 958 247 128

Granada

• Opening Hours of the Tourist Office of Granada:

The first authority we are going to talk about is the “Patronato de Turismo”. It is a depen-dent body from the “Diputación

de Granada” and was established in 1981. Nowadays it is regulated for a triple objec-tive:

Promote the touristic development in the province to include it into our economic engine and into a source of employment and incomes.

Promote loyalty among the tour-ist that visit the province, offering them their attention and profes-sional information.

Promote the tourist offer in the prov-ince to strengthen Granada as va-cation destination.

As long as the final objective of the “Patronato” is to bring out the province appeals, they offer these promotion activities:

It attends to the main national and inter-nation trade shows and it also attends to the most important businesses from “Turespaña and “Turismo Andaluz”

It recieves “familiarization trips” through the many “Tourist Information Offices” from all the world wide.

Besides the “Patronato de Turismo” Office, we should mention too the Town Hall Tourist Information Office, which has its own Online Tourist Informa-

-In its website, (www.granatur.com) they should inform about meeting scheduled.

The last Office we are talking about is the website “www.andalucia.org”, which features one of the best online in-formation sources of our community. They have a double objective: promoting the Andalusia Brand as a tourist and

world class destination, as well as developing the renewal process of both sectors in Andalusia. In fullfilling these objectives, the fol-lowing business lines are developed:

·-Promote the tourism industry in all of its aspects and develop-ment of all activities to that end. -They have to promote the tourism offer in the strict sens, as well as the complementary offer within Andalusia.

·-Research and analysis of new tourist products. -Management of tourism facilities as assigned by the Andalu-sian Regional Government. -Editing of promotional material in all mediums

·-Production and distribution of information that promotes the development of tourism in Andalusia. -Coordination of promotional activities for public or private en-tities that have the same role in the context of the global

tourism policy.

·-Application of modern technologies applied to the marketing. -The sports are promoted and developed in this page too since they could gather many tourist flows within Andalusia. They have to organise, communicate, and diffuse the events.

bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people. They are usually open about their sexual orientation and gender identity but may be more or less open when traveling; for

instance they may be closeted at home or if they have come out, may be more discreet in areas known for violence against LGBT people.

The main components of LGBT tourism is for destinations, accommodations and travel services wishing to attract LGBT tourists; people looking to travel to LGBT-friendly

destinations; people wanting travel with other LGBT people when traveling regardless of the destination and LGBT travelers who are mainly concerned with cultural and safety
