An Adverb is a word that modifies a verb, an adjective, or
another adverb. For example, in the sentence Ancient Chinese
warriors fired very powerful rockets. The adverb would be very
because it modifies the adjective powerful. Adverbs answers these
four questions How, when, where, and to what extent.

How?- Patient, loudly, and carefully. When?-sometimes, daily,
and always. Where?- inside, there, and everywhere. To what
extent?-extremely, nearly, and almost. There are many different
positions of adverbs. Some of the adverbs come after the verb,
before the verb, and at the beginning of the sentence. After verb-

ascended. In soe cases, suddenly can come at the beginning of the
sentence or before the verb.

usually answer the question to what extent. Examples of
intensifiers are almost, extremely, quite, so, usually, especially,
nearly, really, too, and very. Adverbs in writing tell when, to
what extent, or tells how something or someone is. Many adverbs are
formed by adding ly to adjectives.
