The Motivation

• The motivation behind this stems from a client of mine who rode his bike from the Riverside area of Wichita to are office at TFI for 6 months to have a two hour visit with his two boys. He did not have access

to a vehicle but was determined to have visits with his children.

• I thought to myself when the project was assigned and instantly I knew it was what I wanted to do.

• I think often times many of us myself included could never imagine life without owning a vehicle and we take for granted how much of a struggle it is for those who walk, bike or use public transportation.

The Bike and Distance

• The distance from my house was 24.5 miles and the expected length via Google maps was 2 hours and 3 minutes.

• The bike was a Schwinn 405 mountain bike with a Bell seat cushion.

The Journey

• Breakfast consisted of a bottle of water, a banana and a bunch of awkward looks as I sat in a ditch.County Line Rd. and Butler Rd.

I was thinking Andover isn't to far away, should I call it quits. 17 miles left, 8:23 AM – 8:35 AM

What I Learned• Throughout my journey it gave me clarity to be thankful for the things I have and reinforced not to take

things for granted.• Also my appreciation for those who walk, bike or use public transportation has grown. As often times they

are up hours before their scheduled shifts in order to be there on time. • It posed the question would I be the same way? Would you?

• Again my love and appreciation for shock collars. Man I love those things.• Lastly poverty is no joke and there are hardworking, family oriented individuals who are fighting to end

poverty for themselves and their loved ones.

• I MADE IT!!!!!!!!!!• 10:23 AM
