Information - mount Vesuvius was formed 17 000 years ago from the previous volcano. It s type is soma volcano because a caldera of the volcano which is a cauldron like volcanic feature formed by the collapse of land due to volcanic eruption. Vesuvius is an active volcano because it erupted many times but at the moment it is dormant. It is located in Italy.
